As long as you're not looking for luxury, Inn on the Beach can be a great place for a vacation. The place is clean and well-run: the owner is usually on the premises and I recognized staff from a previous stay, which is always a good sign. The rooms are well-maintained, and though not luxurious, quite comfortable - and affordably priced. The last room in which I stayed (this was my third visit) had an updated shower that was very, very nice. The pillows, pillow cases, sheets, and towels were a distinct step up from most hotels and motels. The Inn also is directly across the street from the beach, which is always good. During my stay, many of the guests appeared to have been there before, which is a good sign and demonstrates that I'm not alone in thinking this is the right place to be. You're offered a beach towel when you arrive and you can borrow beach chairs and umbrellas, although the umbrellas aren't in great shape. Pass-a-Grille isn't for everyone - it's very, very quiet and there's nowhere to go, nowhere to shop, and nowhere decent to eat - but if you have a car, the commercial part of St. Pete Beach is a whole three minutes away and you can find whatever you want there. I've been there before and I'd go there again, and that's exactly what I'm looking for when I vacation.

Beautiful, quiet spot in Pass-A-Grille area of St Pete Beach. Right on the gulf and easy walk to many restaurants including Paradise Grill - directly on gulf with live music and spectacular sunsets. Clean cute rooms - some with balconies looking out on gulf. Will definitely be back! So glad we found it!

Room Tip: Spoonbill has a balcony on the gulf

Lovely property, well maintained, right across from a fabulous beach. Friendly, helpful staff. Located a short walk from the downtown area of Pass-a-Grille, it's a great place for a quiet, relaxed vacation. Will definitely come back for another stay.

My wife gave me the task of finding a place on a Florida beach away from the crowds. We had a few days to get away from the kids and work to spend time together. When we walked into the Love Shack my wife was speechless. It was exactly what both of us want in all of our vacations. No crowds. No lines. All we had was the sound of the waves. Palm trees waving near our private balcony. And each other. The beach was just across the street. Restaurants within walking distance. It was exactly what we wanted. Clean. Comfortable. Charming. My wife had tears in her eyes as we were leaving the room to check out. We didn't want to leave. Perfect in every way!

Spent the weekend at the Inn on the Beach while visiting family and friends that had rented a house in the area. Location is great! A quick walk to the local Paradise Grill on the Beach as well as some local bars and restaurants. The room we stayed in was the Pelican room - a 1 queen room with a kitchenette area. The room was pleasantly much bigger in person than it appeared in the online photos. Property was quiet, but fun and the room was spotless!! Nice continental breakfast offered in the morning as well. Thanks for making our reunion weekend so successful!!

My husband and I stayed here for one night on our way to Sanibel Island from the Tampa Bay Airport. The inn is just charming with a pretty courtyard where delicious morning coffee is served daily. The location across the street from the beach entrance is perfect and it is an easy walk to the restaurants, shopping street, convenience store, pier...everything. It did not take me long to realize that Pass-A-Grille is my kind of peaceful, low key beach town with pretty houses (NO huge, towering hotels),blue-green gulf waters, and amazing sunsets. Our room, Plumeria, was a small, clean efficiency. The sleeping area was a bit tight with room for just one nightstand/lamp and the wall air conditioner is located directly overhead. Our weather was absolutely perfect so we opened the windows and did not run it. The two chairs at the foot of the bed added to the tightness...I would have preferred a narrow bench to hold our two suitcases. We did not sit at the little table but I can see how some guests might want it if eating indoors during bad weather. The bathroom had a roomy, tiled shower and was great. Our most favorite part of Plumeria was the private patio (under the balcony of the Egret unit) where we did a lot of porch sitting while looking out onto the quiet side street. After leaving town, we traveled a very short distance to Fort DeSoto to check out North Beach. Wow...so worth the nominal entrance fee even if you're just taking a peek!! We took a long beach walk and enjoyed the beauty of nature everywhere...reminded me of St. John, USVI. We would love to return to the Inn on the Beach again....one night gave us the chance to know Pass-A-Grille is a special place we would love to explore further (and just hang out and relax, too!).

We spent three nights (if ONLY we had had more time!) in the Love Shack at Inn on the Beach, along the beautiful stretch of Gulf of Mexico at Pass-a-Grille at the south end of St Pete Beach. This is how much I loved it - I don't want to write a review in case it gets all booked up and I can't go back cause they have no rooms! The area is stunning and the inn so well designed. The Love Shack is a fantastic room with a gorgeous balcony, great bed sheets haha and a little kitchen and dining area. It's 30 seconds walk to the beach and there are some great little eateries and lovely unique art galleries just round the corner. If you're a lover of huge chain hotels where all the rooms are the same then don't stay here! But if you want a fantastic holiday experience in a great location, stay here :-)

Room Tip: Love Shack :-)
