We are Tampa locals and came for a 1 night stay for a friends birthday. We booked a King beachfront room and we stayed in room# 4344. It was not a beachfront room, as our room overlooked the parking lot....no view of the water at all! Had a balcony that also overlooked the parking lot. Disappointing since we paid a premium for this room type and location. Room is in desperate need of updating! It was old, dingy, and seemed dirty. Carpet was rippling on the floor, couch didn't look clean, and bathroom showerhead was awful...small and low water pressure. Didn't like that when you open the hotel room front door you are right in the bedroom. The best part of this hotel was the pool area where we had a cabana (first come, first serve for these). Our waiter we had for the day was Daryl and he did an excellent job of taking care of the group of about 12 of us! Very attentive, friendly, and overall fantastic! I wold not stay here again...and wouldn't recommend it either. Not worth the $ we paid for a room that didn't meet the expectations of what we booked. There didn't seem to be many good seafood restaurants the hotel staff could even recommend in the area...we ended up at the place they recommended--Dockside Dave's...not a good recommendation. Overall didn't like the area around the hotel. Beach area was nice and clean.

My boyfriend and I had done a lot of research to find the perfect hotel for us in our travels to St. Pete's Beach. We kept seeing the Sirata on a lot of searches but like many people, kept reading mixed reviews. Not too sure where the negative reviews were coming for, but we had an amazing vacation (even despite tropical storm Debby dampering our last day!) Our room was in building 2 with a balcony that was ocean front- we were literally just steps away from the beach! The rooms were not the newest we've ever seen, but were kept very clean. The staff always made an effort to refill anything necessary on a daily basis. There is a Publix that it is very close to the resort that made it easy to stock up on some drinks and snacks in the room. The in-room refrigerator was very spacious. It was very convenient having the bars and restaurants right on the resort (Compasse Grille had some amazing food!), but it was also nice to have many choices within walking distance as well (I highly recommend the Drunken Clam and Mad Fish...you won't be disappointed). Even when our power went out on the last night of the trip due to the tropical storm, the staff was extremely concerned with making our stay as comfortable as possible and even offered 50% off our last night there due to the inconvenience. I would highly recommend this resort and we have all intentions in returning sometime in the future!

Took my Vacation for July 4th and my birthday. I am a low maintenance traveler so I don't need much but a bed to sleep on and a bath, which both were OK. We stayed in the standard room with a small refrigerator, basically motel style, building two floor three. Bed was decent, bathroom was hard to move around in since they sectioned out the toilet and shower through a separate door. Sink area was nice and large but the door hinders you to move when it's open. We had a partial ocean view if you looked looked over the other buildings from outside our door. We only had one drink on the resort are Harry's and it was $9 for a small plastic cup. Definitely not worth the price for bottom shelf. Beach is lovely with a kiosk to rent paddle boards, jet skis or go parasailing. They will charge $40/day to your card, but when you check out it is refunded if you didn't use room service or what not. For food / drinks I would recommend hopping on the trolley, it runs every 30 minutes and stops right out from of the hotel, for $4.50/day it's a good deal and you can transfer to any other bus in the area with the same card. Overall, average motel stay with the added bonus of the ocean. Make sure to Ger away from the resort to see all the sites, there is much more a bit north that will have you wanting to come back to the area!

The Sirata sits right in the heart of St. Pete Beach. We arrrived right after TS Debbie and weren't sure what to expect since they had over 20" of rain 3 days before we arrived but much to our happiness you would never know a tropical storm had just gone through. The grounds including the beach were remarkably clean.
Harry's Beach Bar is great, Dominic is a great bartender who has been there for over 15 years and has a recommendation for anything you need.
Would definitley recommend staying here. You can walk to almost everything.

We decided at the last minute to head for the west coast of Florida to St. Pete Beach from central Florida for the 4th of July. We booked a king suite at the Sirata and stayed for 3 days.
The suite was clean and large enough- just two of us- and had a fridge, stove, microwave, toaster-that burned everything- pots, pans, dishes and silverware. It was convenient for us to eat breakfast n the room, especially with the Publix just a block away, making it quick and easy to pick up odds and ends.

The room did not have a balconyand although we were told the room had a beach view, you really had to push your nose against the glass door to see the beach. It didn't really matter to us because the best view of the beach was from our beach chairs in the sand where we spent every day!

The king sized bed could have been more comfortable- it was a bit soft. We found it convenient that the sink area was outside the bathroom and there was plenty of counter space. The bathroom itself was large and had tub with a removeable shower head. A hair dryer and iron were provided- but don't expect any fancy amenities.

The room living room of the suite had a sleeper sofa, the kitchen, a dining table with 4 chairs and a tv. The couch was not very comfortable to sit on, not sure about sleeping on it. The carpets were in need of replacing and were worn in some spots.

The biggest problem at the hotel was parking. It is possible that it was because it was the 4th of July, but their very large parking lot seemed to run out of parking spaces very quickly. Since they only allow guests of the hotel to park in the lot, it appeared that there was just inadequate space. One night the hotel had spotters out helping people find places to park. Not what you expect when you are being charged a daily parking fee.

This is a large property with a restaurant and a couple of beach bars. Harry's Beach Bar was fun although the service for food was pitifully slow. The food at the Compasse Grille was good and reasonably priced.

Although we didn't use the pools, they were very crowded. The beach on the other hand was perfect- and that is after all, why we were there. There is a wide beach area that never felt too crowded. Towels are provided at no charge although on two days they ran out of towels for ahlf an hour. Cabanas are available to rent for the day- that is two lounges with cushions and an awning for shade. We found the cabana very hot because the awning blocked the breeze. We had our own chairs with us, so just opted to buy beach umbrellas and sit closer to the water and that was wonderful

Overall, the rooms were ok for a beach hotel in this area- but perhaps a bit overpriced based on the fact that they need to be updated. If you are like us and spend very little time in the room, and you are looking for a beautiful beach, you will enjoy the Sirata Beach Resort.

My bf and I booked the Sirata through Hotwire for a weekend getaway to St Pete Beach in January. We were a little worried when we read the reviews but figured oh well for the price we can't complain. We ended up upgrading our room though so it wasn't as inexpensive as planned. Yes, the rooms are kind of old and nothing fancy, but it was clean and oceanfront! The location was great - we walked a lot of places. Since it was January, we didn't swim, but the pool area was nice and we did go in the hot tub every day. The fire pit was nice too. We enjoyed our stay.
