“When can we return!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 September 2009

Service staff from the front desk, to housekeeping, to pool maintainence were all friendly and accommodating to all of our needs. Sirata maintains a charming yet casual, fun and relaxing atmosphere amidst the amazing gulf beach. Suites are roomy and very clean. There is a multitude of dining and entertainment choices both at the Sirata and within walking distance. The trolley is great for getting around if you want to go farther than a long walk. We have reservations for next week and we can't wait to get there.

Twenty minutes from downtown Tampa to St. Pete Beach helps to make The Sirata one of our favourite quick getaways! We've found the staff to be friendly, very quick and accomodating. The choices of pools combined with the beach makes for easy decisions.

Having stayed at the Sirata Beach Hotel 2 years ago we decided to go and stay there again this September. How I really wish we hadn't!
We booked our holiday as a package deal and requested a sea view if possible. Upgrades cannot be done from the UK at the time of booking. These are done via upgrades on arrival and for a decent suite with a sea view, this will set you back $80 per night. A junior suite overlooking the pool and loosely with a beach view is an additional $40 per night.
The standards of cleanliness have definitely declined .....
We had a communal balcony on the second floor that was NOT cleaned at all throughout our 2 week stay. The air con units in vacant rooms leaked out water all over the balcony and unfortunately down the stair well leading to the ground floor which was a definite hazzard as this made the steps extremely slippery. Despite numerous complaints to reception, the water continued to leak out of the vacant rooms air con units and the balcony was left unswept and unclean.
Upon using the bathroom for the first time in our room I spied a tissue right at the back of the vanity unit. Although we had maid service every day, the said tissue remained in situ throughout our stay and was still there on the day we left!
The middle pool could definitely have been kept cleaner. There were a couple of days we bypassed it altogether and opted for the sea as we didn't fancy taking a morning dip with dead insects and slimy steps and pool sides.
I now move onto the hidden extras which are all to be paid locally if you decide you want them ...
Resort parking -$8 per day which is compulsary if you want to use the car parking facilities within the hotel.
Beach cabanas - $15 per day
Wireless Internet (check the Sirata hotel website - states a SMALL charge for WIFI) - Actual charge $10 per day, yes you read that right $10 PER DAY!!!!!
Room Services $8 per time.
So now add up all your extras and if you decide you want / need them, they add up to a small fortune.
Drive up and down Gulf Boulevard and just about every other hotel offers free resort parking, free beach views and free wifi. We stayed at one of these hotels last year and it was much better value for money.
As for the location, Saint Pete Beach is fantastic. Beautiful clean sandy beaches with warm sea and lots of dolphins. Thebreathtaking sunsets each evening are definitely not to be missed. We will be going back next year to Saint Pete Beach but definitely NOT to the Sirata Beach Resort!

My son and I stayed at the Sirata for 4 days in August and were highly impressed. The staff was friend, the room was clean and comfy, the location was perfect, the price was right and the beach was amazing! We will always stay here when we return.

The resort has 3 pool, a hot tub, several restraunts, a pool room, arcade, laundry room, private beach, swingset for little kids on the beach, awesome hammocks strategically placed around the resort and we really enjoyed our stay.

We made a reservation for a Gulf Front room and were incredibly disappointed when we discovered that their definition of Gulf Front is really Courtyard Front with a little view of the water. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. Instead of our balcony being over the sand it was over the courtyard where wedding pictures were taken and people hung out.

We had a suite and when you walk into the room you are in the bedroom as opposed to the living room. It’s very strange and I didn’t think much more about it until we realized that you can hear EVERY noise coming through the door from the hallway. We did not sleep the entire trip – you could EVERYTHING like it was right in your room.

There were also a lot of drunken young people all over the resort. We were particularly disgusted with the young college girls saying 2 and 3 doors down. Every night at 11pm they convened in the hall outside our room before they went out. Then, when they came home at 330 in the morning, we were again woken up by their drunk screams and partying. One afternoon around 4pm one girl was VERY drunk and was actually in the hallways topless with a man. Despite several complaints to the desk and security, the girls were never removed. There were children staying in our hallway and young girls were drunk and topless in front of them.

The beach was gorgeous and I did like the pool area. There are so many places to stay in the area so I would definitely suggest bypassing the Sirata.

The Sirata Beach Resort is the a wonderful place to stay. The treat you like family and do whatever thay can to make your stay pleasant. The rooms are clean no matter what your price range with them is. They have some great special. I would reccomend the SIrata to anyone and I have many times. Harry's bar rocks with Dom, Joey, Jo and Kristen. They make every customer feel special. It is a 5 star hotel all the way.

Our room was an executive suite on 6th floor-Wonderful view of beach and area -the only minor thing we had is maybe the beds could use a new matress - The cost of the cabana rentals on the beach were very reasonable for all day. Pools and hot tubs were clean. The only other complaint we had was having to go back home afterwards.

Compass Grill and resort bars were great-we had excellent service and the food was well worth it. If you didn't want what provided. There were places near-by that served great food.

We tried a restraurant a block away-Silas Dent-now that place was horrible-food was not cooked all the way-they gave us our checks before we were finished.

We went to the Bella Habana-that place was excellent, food was great-we loved it and was a very short walk away. Same thing for a crab shack place 3 buildings down.
