This hotel is a treasure to the St. Pete Beach area. The hotel is beautifully kept and very clean. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating. The hotel is pet friendly even has a special outdoor dog run for your dog. The hotel has established to separate pool areas one for families and one for adults only. The food is great and the cocktails are amazing. Tradewinds Island Grand is just a few steps down the beach, which is open for you to use all their amenities as well.

My only issue was the outdoor bar. I think it would be better suited near the adult pool and not the family pool.

This was was my 13th year at this hotel previously the sandpiper. The hotel has done some
remodeling in the rooms like New carpet and bedding. But what keeps me returning is their staff. Carmen, James, Joanne and Janice at the front desk welcome u back and remember u from the year before. At the sand bar, Cissy and Brad and Victor provide excellent service and really yummy drinks. They now have live music daily at the sand bar and we were pleased to hear Felix recite some beautiful poetry he wrote. Denise and captain Tim are very helpful in the gift shop finding that special gift gift to take home. My housekeeper Sfia made sure my room had everything I needed . It is no wonder there are the number 1 resort on the beach their staff is number 1!!!!!! Already reserved for next year.

Rooms are ok. Close to the beach. Staff is very friendly. Not enough shade in the pool area during the day. Would have liked to have some music during the day at the pool area.
Next time woud prefer room at ground level facing ocean.

Room Tip: we had a small standard room - not facing the beach with two beds and a bathroom - it was ok - nothi...

We stayed Memorial Day Weekend at the Outpost and during the 3 night stay, sleeping was almost impossible until after 3 a.m. We were in the "courtyard" area of rooms which was sandwiched between a bar full of rowdy patrons from noon every single day and some sort of party constantly going on over on someone's veranda at the hotel next door. I did like the smaller, more intimate feel of the space and the staff was very attentive, but that will never make up for the loud, drunken folks and the contstant sound of the bass from the speakers rattling the windows. I know it was a holiday weekend, but isnt there some sort of beach noise ordinance that should be enforced? I literally need a weekend away to rest up from my weekend away!

Room Tip: Don't get a Courtyard room.

Stayed 4 nights/5days in a standard room with my spouse and school age child. Next trip to St Pete Beach will book at an independent property instead and save myself some $. Like that the room had a fridge, microwave and sink-as the food and bevs on site are ridiculously overpriced. Most of the older staff were friendly. Younger beach staff seemed stressed and hurried. Happy hour was a joke (NA beer and "rum" punch without much-if any-rum). Found various inconsistencies between what was advertised on website and what staff told us. Best parts of this resort: beach access, parking and swimming pools. Room was also very clean, comfortable and quiet. Only inconvenience was walking over to sister resort Tradewinds to access the kids activity center.

Great location but average hotel. The marketing group advertised a "dolphin package" but apparently forgot to tell the hotel staff. They sent us all over the place to get tickets only to be continuously redirected elsewhere. Besides the cockroach in the room,it was relatively clean. The cleaning staff comes very early and gives you NO TIME after knocking before entering (and obviously can't hear well when u yell) so keep your extra lock on. Overall, not bad, great location, average hotel with average service and average to low value for your money.

We've stayed at this hotel on and off 15 times for about 30 yrs. They've almost completed an extensive refurbish which enhances the rooms and adds several amenities. We like the hotel because it feels small enough to be attentive to the guests and we like its position on the beach. Prices here have risen quite a bit over the years so it may be overpriced for the typical family. We'll probably keep returning because its so comfortable.
