“Great Resort with all Trade Winds Ammenities”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

St. Pete Beach is beautiful. I think it is the best in the state. I always stay at this resort for many reasons. First, it is a just a two minute short walk away from Trade Winds where you can enjoy all of the restaurants and entertainment offered there but return from the crowds to a nicer calmer more relaxing beach atmosphere. There are hammocks swinging under Florida pines right on the beach which are perfect for a relaxing cocktail hour! The suite rooms have almost full kitchens with the usual appliances as well as a stove top and stocked with everything you would need to prepare a meal, however, there are so many wonderful restaurants at the Trade Winds why cook? Hint: the Smoked Fish Spread at Guy Harvey's Outpost Grille is divine!! The suites are cleverly designed with the bedroom in the back so when you shut the bedroom door from the kitchen, bath, living room and outside balcony areas, you no longer hear the resort and it's neighboring tiki bars (if you choose not too). The staff is over the top eager to help, from check in with Deanna at the Front Desk to an amazing hardworking housekeeping staff! Kudos to them! I recommend joining the TW Paradise Club online when you book as it is worth the little extras that come with it! So all in all I choose GH Outpost over Trade Winds as a personal choice as I feel the TW resort is a bit too crowded and noisy for my idea of a relaxing stay at the beach. The Outpost is perfect for me!

The staff at this hotel we remarkable (especially the female concierge). Any question we had they provided the answers. The staff was always friendly, helpful and made us feel at ease. The hotel is priced right. I am happy we upgraded when we arrived to a suite, this made the hotel that much more enjoybale for us. We had a beautiful view of the beach and pool area. This is a family friendly hotel that shares amenities with its sister hotel just steps away, (huge water slide, and adults have fun on it as well). Happy hour is great 5 to 6 every night!!!!! This hotel is not a five star however, it is comfortable, clean, has a wonderful staff and sits on a beautiful white sand beach. Did I forget to mention seeing dolphins swimming on the beach! This is a sight seen often. I would recommend this hotel for travelers visiting St Pete Beach and I would stay again! :)

Lisa Graham was very engaging, FRIENDLY and entertaining. She kept us laughing and having a great time as she kept the drinks flowing. The view from the Sand bar at sunset was breath-taking. The pool area and restroom were clean and well maintained.

My husband had business in St. Pete's, so we decided to make it a long 4-day weekend. Our stay was very enjoyable, the beach is awesome, clean and great for strolls (you can walk for quite aways up and back). The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful... but I do have a few caveats:
We stayed on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool/bar area. Had a great view of the ocean, but it was LOUD LOUD LOUD! Each evening there is a happy hour with some sort of singer that plays music for a few hours. Fun if you are down there drinking (which we did one night), but excruciatingly loud if you are relaxing in the room or watching t.v. (we had to turn the t.v. way up to hear). I am not an old fogey; we go to concerts all the time, so I do appreciate loud music every once and awhile. Also, the hotel next door has a restaurant/bar (The Toasted Monkey) which also had live music that was very loud & could be easily heard from our room...this went on till very late. I always travel with earplugs, so it really wasn't an issue for me and my husband can tune out noise, but be aware. The other issue was regarding the coffee shop downstairs; it was great having a place that sold coffee, pastries, etc. (even lattes!) for a breakfast option. It was extremely expensive however; we should've probably stocked the frig w/bfast stuff but would still would have gone for the coffee! The restaurant was very good with good food and a great drink special each day (what's a beach vacation without fruity adult beverages!) and very helpful & friendly waitstaff. We did walk down to the sister beach resort which had lots more to offer in dining, but really just wanted to laze around & enjoy the beach. Really appreciated the free beach cabanas and also LOVED the hammocks even better! Also having Aveda shampoo, soap, etc. was a plus for me. I recommend the resort, but bring your earplugs! : )

Room Tip: See my review regarding the noise from the poolside bar. Loved the ocean view however!

I was in St. Pete Beach for a one-day work conference and ended up extending the trip to stay for a weekend with my wife and son. We all had a great time. We stayed in a suite with a bedroom, small kitchen area, and living room. It had plenty of room to spread out and had a full refrigerator/stove if needed. The property is right on the beach and only steps to the ocean. There are two pools (one adults-only) and hot tubs. We ate at the restaurant on the patio and the food was good. Service was consistently outstanding, especially at the front desk and outdoor bar. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The complimentary happy hour was great. We had a fantastic time and would plan to stay at the resort if we are ever back in the area.

The TradeWinds Resort is a paradise that is a must to stay at! The views from the rooms are beautiful you just can't go wrong. No matter if you choose a tropical view or the gulf it is beautiful!
It was a mini stay for us and a birthday surprise for me as well. This is where I spent my birthday last year. When are stay is finished I never want to leave! And we live here in Northern Pinellas!
Walking the beach or staying by the pool it doesn't matter your never bored!
Oh and the bar crawl is a must...just make sure you eat before in between and if you can after!!! LOL! The rooms are great, lots of room never running into each other and very well kept. The staff is always making sure your stay is the BEST! I recommend this to my friends up north all the time.
So relaxing and loads of fun. There's always a pool around a corner! Just Let Go like they say and you'll be back!

Room Tip: If you can the higher up you are the better you see the island and the Gulf of Mexico!

We have been staying at this resort for years. I have a business trip there yearly but this visit was purely personal. We love it here! And since it became a Guy Harvey resort it's that much better. The Adult only pool is a great place to relax, the tiki bar on the other side is awesome! And the beach chairs round out the perfect resort experience. I can't wait to go back in March!! See ya soon

Room Tip: Suites are fantastic!
