Clean comfortable rooms, effective caring staff and awesome location on St. Pete Beach. This was our first trip to St. Pete Beach for our family of five. Most places won't let you book a trip for five without getting two rooms, so this is a huge plus for us. Location near their sister Trade Winds resort was great. Our kids are all teenagers so we could take advantage of amenities without having a lot of young children to contend with all the time. Between the two resorts, you have a ton of meal choices and charge it back to your room, allowing you to leave credit cards and cash out; great feature when you are on the beach or by the pool. Overall, the resort is very clean and comfortable. If we could change one thing, it would be larger beds. Traveling with three teenage boys, the beds were too small but we are looking forward to our next trip!

The Guy Harvey Outpost is a great place to stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable, although we had to adjust to sleeping in a double bed. The beach is huge and the cabanas are great. Being able to make use of all the Trade Winds Resort has to offer is an added bonus. The happy hour with free beer, wine or specialty rum cocktail and live entertainment while watching the sun set is the perfect way to end a day on the beach. We will definitely return.

Hello catchmelater,
You are so right - being able to stay at one and play at BOTH TradeWinds Island Resorts properties is a huge perk we offer our guests, and we're so glad you found that to be true. We're happy to know you enjoyed all the amenities we have to offer. Thank you for sharing your experience. Please come back to stay with us again for your next Florida getaway!
Kind Regards,

The beach was beautiful. The hotel didn't have our gulf facing room available so they upgraded us to a suite, which was nice. However, they put us next to the visiting obnoxious lacrosse team, who were loud the entire night. If you're near the north side, prepare for the Howard Johnson bar which is loud and goes late into the night - we are talking throbbing music, karaoke, and sand volleyball. The hotel seemed to not be able to do anything about it. The staff were friendly enough. The pool is very small. Too expensive in my opinion.

We stayed at the Guy Harvey Outpost the first two weeks of March. We really enjoyed the beach and this hotel. It is a great location right on the beach. There are several good restaurants within walking distance. Many of the hotel staff have been there for many years. They are like family. The housekeeping staff did a great job in keeping our room neat and tidy. A special thanks to housekeeper, Michelle S. The cabana crew are very friendly (especially Ed) and helpful. A free happy hour from 5:00 to 6:00 at the beach bar was very enjoyable. We would highly recommend this hotel for a beach vacation.

Room Tip: A gulf front suite on the adult pool side are very quiet.

We always stay here when we visit Florida. The staff is excellent. You just walk out the back of the hotel and you are on the beach. The sunsets there are amazing. They are even building a new restaurant out front,

This is a great resort, in the best location near Tampa. St. Pete´s beach is one of the best beaches in US and the resort exceeded all our expectations. Two pools (one adults only), cabana on the beach included with the resort fee, free beer or wine during happy hour every afternoon at 5 PM, clean and comfortable rooms and all decorated with Guy Harvey´s fishing theme drawings and paintings. All our family enjoyed very much our stay!

This was out second time staying here at it was wonderful as always. We asked for a suite but were given a honeymoon suite which overlooked the kids pool and beach. We needed a cot for my son but that was fine.
Many people say that this hotel is not as good as the Tradewinds but if you are trying to save money it's best to stay here and just go over to the Tradewinds for the activities.
We went over to the Tradewinds resort a lot and used the two kids pool, the hot tub, the paddleboats, the mini golf, and waterslide. I mention this because last year we didn't realize all the free activities that existed.
The staff were fantastic although one of the days our room wasn't cleaned very well. I was a little upset since we only have the room cleaned every second day.
We checked in at 2am and checked out at 5am. Both times it was done quickly.
Another thing to mention is that you can get cheap Busch Garden tickets at the concierge desk.
We are planning on going to Disney next year but will return in two years time.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the adult pool are the quietest. If you overlook the beach you will hear the night...
