Not real fancy but makes up for that in cleanliness and the ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL staff. I have also stayed at their other property, the Coconut, which is equally awesome. Eddie and Judith take great care of the property and their guests. AC works beautifully and the place is cool and quiet.

You can borrow the bikes and beach chairs and the pool is tiny but cute. I met lots of great folks here. Will always come back to Sabal Palms or the Coconut! Thanks Eddie and Judith.

Room Tip: I like the bottom floor, it's very cool, a lot like being in a cave, which is okay with me.

Another lovely stay at Sabal Palms. This time we had room #10 as we wanted a budget room for the first week in order to afford a week in the Havana Inn to follow (see other review). #10 is a basement room underneath #1 but has a few windows overlooking the decking and eating area near the office.

As usual the wonderful Judith and her staff looked after us from day 1 and nothing was too much trouble. We love Pass-a-Grille and next year will be our 20th visit and we've always stayed at Sabal Palms. Long may it continue.

We used the free bicycles, beach chairs and also the grill when we weren't eating out (usually at the The Wharf Restaurant just down the road).

Thoroughly recommended for a simple holiday by the beach.

I have stayed at alot of different places around St. Pete, and Sabal Palms is now my number-one favorite. Judy kept the room spotless and was so friendly and courteous. The location is perfect. Quiet, peaceful, steps from the beach. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone. Will most definitely return next year!

Room Tip: Unit 4 has a nice view of the beach.

We had an excellent stay at the Sabal Palms. Stayed in Room 8 which looked over the pool and parking. This doesn't sound desirable, but it was very quiet and very peaceful.

Room was very clean and bright and cheery being on the second floor. Linens nice and clean, comfortable mattress and great pillows.

We loved Passagrille, and would recommend this as a destination. It's wonderful that the Sabal Palms Inn provides bicycles to its guests. Highlight of our vacation was riding them to the Bay Side and along the beach. Also to get toasted coconut and salted caramel ice cream at Paradise Sweets!

We had one issue while we were there. Our unit had a brand new refrigerator that had just been delivered before we arrived. First night we arrived, we realized that it wasn't cooling off. Eddie was quick to check it out and see that it was defective. By the next day, we had a new refrigerator. These things happen sometimes, and we were thankful that Eddie was quick to act to get the problem fixed.

We definitely recommend Sabal Palms. I'd like to try the Coconut Inn or the Havana Inn on another visit. Those are 2 of their other properties that are close by the Sabal Palms.

My partner and I checked in Friday Afternoon. We were there a few minutes before the scheduled check-in time, but they let us claim our room anyway.

Judy was the one who checked us in, and honestly, she was one of the highlights of our vacation. She was very courteous and kind.

The hotel room itself was small and dark, but we really loved it. We slept really well because of how dark it was; however, the bed was a bit rough. I would suggest that they get new beds that are a bit more comfortable. A pillow top would be nice, but I know this isn't exactly the Ritz.

On it not being the Ritz: ... we loved it! We have both stayed in very commercialized resorts, and we have also stayed in family owned motel / hotels. We much prefer this type of experience. If you are looking to be pampered, go to the huge / tourist-trapped hotel down the street.

The beach itself was very quiet and humble. You will not find loud and obnoxious travelers here. It's comprised of sophisticated beach goers who love peace. Every single person in pass-a-grille said hello to us! It's a very friendly town.

Room Tip: The "basement rooms" have 6' 6" ceilings. If you're looking for a view outsid...
