I have just returned from a 5 night stay at the Palm Crest Motel in St. Pete Beach, FL. It is a small property (18-19 rooms/units)that is clean and neat as a pin. The owner (Jack) was on site daily and took great care to make sure that everything was in order, from the appearance of the grounds to making sure that no one who was not registered at the motel did not park in the Motel parking lot.
Most of the units are on the ground floor, opening up onto a courtyard landscaped w/tropical type plants, with 2 or three units upstairs. The pool area (including a shaded porch-type structure) overlooks the beach; you walk from the pool area directly onto the beach. The Palm Crest Motel is approx. 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile north of the Don CeSar Resort in St. Pete Beach. Rates are extremely reasonable; I paid $79 per night for a studio room w/ King bed, small eating area and kitchen equipped w/ stove, utensils, pots, pans, refrigerator, which I thought was a great value for the July 4 Holiday located directly on the beach. Most all of the folks there were families w/children, everyone that I met was very nice/friendly. I met one family from Ohio that has been coming to this same property for 30 years. There was a gas grill that sat in the middle of the courtyard that guests could use. I was looking for a place that was quiet and friendly; I found these at the Palm Crest Motel.
