My wife and I recently spent 8 days/7 nights in Pass-A-Grille a the Keystone Motel, and I would not hesitate to return any time. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. Our first couple of days there we lazed in the pool and watched the paint crew finish up a brand new exterior paint job. The room we were in had been freshly painted, had a good tile floor and best of all, a brand new bathroom with glass walk in shower, new tiles, and new toilet/vanity. It was a kitchenette unit, and while the kitchen area was tiny, it had everything we needed including a full size fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee pot and electric cook top, but no oven. We didn't miss it, we mostly used the kitchenette for a toasted sandwich in the morning or a late night snack. There are several excellent restaurants in the area including the Hurricane right next door, owned by the same family. If you show them your room key you receive 10% off your lunch or dinner food bill, not including alcohol. Hey, better than nothing. This hotel has been in the same family since it was built in 1945 and they take great pride in it, as they should. If you read some posts about the older lady on the property, please keep in mind that Grandma is 92 years old, still works a 16 hour day and could be found checking on things all over the hotel property and the restaurant next door. Her hearing is not good, and a little absent minded perhaps, but a really sweet host as are her daughter, son-in-law and grand-daughter. The pool area was clean and the pool kept well heated so that we could enjoy it even on cooler days. You can't beat the location right across the street from the beach, and PAG is a beautiful little area with some neat little shops, bars, restaurants and best of all, not a single building over three stories tall. No ugly condos or impersonal chain hotels. Reminded me a lot of Key West, but smaller. If you are younger perhaps and looking for a big party and night life, it will not be for you, but for us as a middle aged couple that appreciates a cold beer in the afternoon, a nice supper and a walk on the beach at sunrise, it was perfect.
