We stayed at the Alden Beach Resort for a few days in December 2013. Restaurants & shops are within walking distance. The resort recently installed a new hot tub on the property. The hotel is located on the beach. The rooms are clean. New this year in the lobby are two Keurig coffee machines. Looking forward at our next trip at this hotel.

This is a wonderful spot. It has a great, friendly staff from front desk to housekeeping to bartenders. They are helpful without being bothersome. It is right on the beach and I saw groups of friends, families, couples and singles enjoying the gulf and the pools.

An extra shout out to the Bartenders, who got very busy and kept their sense of humor and kept everyone happy.

I will be back.

Room Tip: I did not stay in a room with the beach view, but it was such a short walk that I didn't miss it...

My family and I have been coming to The Alden consecutively for the last 20 plus years. My parents found this resort when they were looking for a fun, laid back, family spot to begin our annual Florida trip tradition. The Alden has won our hearts year after year and now we come with the addition of spouses and children. The little ones love it just was much as we do!

The Alden has a great location, about 25 minutes from the Tampa airport and close vicinity to fun spots for day trips, like the Tampa Aquarium and Busch Gardens. The Alden is directly situated on the beautiful, expansive Gulf and has everything you need. Located on Gulf Blvd there are plenty of family friendly and delicious restaurants nearby. We love to walk the beach to Crabby Bills or we take the Free Beach Ride to one of the other restaurants. The resort itself has a fun playground, two big heated pools, two hot tubs, lighted tennis courts, game room and fun outdoor shuffleboard. The Cabana Beach bar is perfect for catching the most beautiful sunsets and bartender Kitty makes the BEST Bahama Mamas ever! The Alden has a large patio area with grills perfect for the nights we stay in and lounge around the pool. We love to grill up steaks and burgers and enjoy some night swimming.

The rooms at the Alden are all efficiencies which makes it great for families and extended stays. All the rooms are super spacious and decorated in a cool tropical theme. We always stay in the higher (4th-6th floor) rooms and the view is spectacular. Sitting on the balcony at night and listening to the waves hit the shore is so peaceful. The Alden has everything you could imagine in a beachy Florida resort and service is ever so accommodating. Can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Gulf front rooms at the higher levels(4th-6th floor) have the most amazing view of the Gulf, it'...

Thanks soooooo much for the excellent review comments!

This guest, like many others, is a 2nd generation guest, as we cater to families who come back 20 years later with their own new families...

This review says it all and could possible be our next brochure narrative!

Thanks again, and please come back and stay with us again and again, and again

Excellent holiday for myself, my sister's & niece.
As soon as we arrived the staff was very help, we was early but they checked us in and upgraded our room, we had room 141 gulf veiw which had no balcony but as you open the patio doors you walked straight on to St Petes Beach.... Amazing.
The beds was very comfy, the rooms was big enough for 4 adults and the kitchen was fully stacked with everything we need to cook breakfast.
We are planning another trip back next year.

Room Tip: room 141 gulf veiw.

Since 141 is a ground floor Gulf front suite, there is no balcony, just a back porch with only 10 steps to the white sandy beach...

Thanks for the nice review!

Not sure why my review was deleted! The Alden is a great place for families or couples. Clean, spacious rooms and friendly staff. The beach property is beautiful and clean. They need to add a regular coffee pot in the lobby. Love the Alden!

Good beachfront resort. No luxury, but that's oin the price. Good amenities (heated pools, tennis courts, grass area in front of the beach with chairs and lounges, table tennis, cabana bar), and spacious rooms.
On the less positive side: King studio with pool view doesn't get much natural light, and you can definitely feel kids running upstairs.

I'd come back.

Alden beach resort is very centrally located on the strip. Many places to choose to eat in the area. The beach is big, beautiful and white the sand is so soft. I fell safe with security driving on the beach. Out in front of the resort on the beach is a Hugh slide for the kids (one for those blow up rubber slides). I did get stung by a Sting Ray so beware! I was even doing to the Sting Ray shuffle. As far as the room it was very large really a suite The two beds were the first thing you enter into, there is a door with a bathroom another door and a big sitting area/kitchenette with a balcony and a Gulf of Mexico view. Wonderful to watch the sunset. Very romantic.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms face the Gulf so you can keep an eye on the kids in the pool or playing outsid...
