We stayed at PCI for an impromptu 3-day weekend trip the last weekend of April. The resort has a nice 60's feel to it, but with modern touches where they count.

The lobby is very relaxed with a table for board games, a wall of books you can borrow throughout your stay, and cold fruit infused water (coffee in the AM). Their checkin process is smooth, but they don't clean rooms in order. They use a queue based system so the first people to arrive will get a fresh room first. The good side is you can arrive early and get into your room within 30 minutes (our experience). But you may still have to wait after the 4pm checkin time.

The rooms are alright, but on the small side. We didn't have issues with noise, but the garden and standard rooms have a shared ac, so it never gets cold in the room. Another negative about the shared ac system is airflow between rooms. Our neighbors were smoking weed and the smell in our room was over whelming. The bathroom is the smallest I've seen in a resort and the toilet is so close to the wall you can't sit straight without hitting your knee. But on the up side, the bed was comfortable and the Tommy Bahamas bath products were great!

The pool area looked nice, but we didn't use it.

The beach is good, but very Shelly until you get past the initial waterline.

The new bar & grill has decent food, but nothing to write home about.

Overall, this is a nice place for the money. But if you stay here and have a standard room, ask to be on the south side or, if you're in the north side, a room on the higher side of the number count. The dumpster is outside the lower numbers on the north side and the smell is overwhelming while you're outside.

We found this delightful inn last minute during busy spring break. Extended our stay for 2 more nites, staff pleasant, friendly, efficient, breakfast was delish, morning coffee in lobby was very good & robust! Special shout out to John on the beach chair duty, so friendly & sweet. I'd return anytime, our bathroom was real tiny but had all we needed. Older style motel so not much room fr expansion, it was updated nicely.

PCI is a fantasy that reflects none of the actual history of St. Pete Beach. Noisy, fake and crowded. Worst of all we learned during our brief visit that the owners are soon to be responsible for tearing down a historic row of SPB shops, two on the beach for 50+ years, to make way for a new PARKING DECK. Yay, more cars, less authentic, local culture to experience. Non-resident Investor/owners like this apparently have no concern for the community, preserving its character or history or anything other than making as much $$$ as possible. So many unique Fla destinations with real character have been destroyed by this kind of development. Ugh.

I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay. The City of St Pete is very happy we are building a very attractive parking deck with convention space. In fact the city is building their own parking deck for Cory Avenue. Parking has always been an issue on St Pete Beach and this will definitely help the local businesses up and down the beach.

Let me start by saying I never do reviews, but after so many bad reviews I felt I should our experience. My wife was interested in being at the beach to celebrate her birthday. The postcard inn was perfect for the trip. The minute we checked in we knew we had made a good choice. The lobby is decorated very uniquely and has lots of gathering areas and fun furniture. I even held a business meeting in the lobby during our stay. We were a few minutes early but they promptly got our room ready while we enjoyed a drink at the PCI beach bar. Our room was a pool view room that was clean and had great access to the pool, bar and beach. We spent most of our time on the sand so this was a big plus. The beach snack shack had good food and the bar staff treated us great! We only left the hotel for a few nightly meals. We did tour a few other properties up and down the beach and we're glad we opted for the simple layout of the postcard inn. No elevators, corporate conference rooms, or chain food courts. At checkout the hotel allowed us an extra hour since we had a later flight and wanted to stay at the beach longer. All of the charges matched our online booking. The only negative to our stay was the final touches they were putting on the poolside room courtyards, but by the time we left there was new turf, landscaping, and mulch. This appears to be the last improvements underway. We would definitely come back and joked this would be perfect location for a couples getaway.

This is a visually cute location. The lobby is cute, the rooms were cute, the pool was nice. The Boathouse Restaurant was fantastic. BUT... the walls were thin. When we got to our room in the morning (they did let us check in early, so that was nice), we could hear the conversation of the people in the room next to us clearly. They were not speaking loud, but the walls were that thin. Then that night, around 2am, our other neighbors came back to their room after being out. They were loud until about 3:30am, so we were awake for that time period as well. We did not complain. It wasn't necessarily their fault - they were on vacation and having a good time. It just sucked that we could hear everything and were kept awake because of how thin the walls are. Another small complaint was that it said the Snack Shack was open on the weekends for breakfast, but nobody was manning it from 8:15-9:30am at least... It was cute and clean, but we probably will try another property in the future. Especially for what we paid...
