“Spectacular!!!”
Reviewed 22 May 2014

The property has charm and the laidback atmosphere I was seeking!!!! Nothing pretentious about the property at all. Jana, the Inn Keeper, was fabulous. I needed advice on where to buy a local piece of art for a wedding gift, where to visit St. Pete Beach that was laid back and not filled with drunk college students, where to get my hair done for the wedding and more. Jana made recommendations, printed out Mapquest directions to include phone numbers and more. Every single recommendation was spot on and made my visit easy and enjoyable (absolutely no stress at all!) when deciding what to do or where to go!! In addition, Jana made breakfast every morning and it was unique, healthy and delicious! I am so happy that I picked this little place to spend a 3-day weekend. There is a little park, marina and shopping within footsteps of the B & B and made it safe and easy to enjoy either walking or biking (which I did both!). in one word - Spectacular!!!

This was a last minute reservation that was a pleasant surprise all around. We were arriving late-ish in the evening but Roland was there to help us park and give us a brief introduction to the place. I loved the little touches like the wine and cookies and microwaves. The location is great and we were given great advice on what places were just the next block down to walk to for dinner.

The breakfast (this morning it was sweet potato hash with a mildly spicy sausage) was very tasty, and there were also yogurts and juices, fruit and pastry items. What I thought was nice is that one couple didn't like the main selection and were made a breakfast to their request.

There is even a PC in the main area to use for what to do or airline check-ins.

There are two minor reasons why I did not give this a 5 - and they are really minor - 1) while pedestal sinks are quaint, they do not allow for room to put my "stuff". If I were to be staying longer this would have been a real inconvenience. And 2) a little more care could be taken into cleaning the corners and "behinds" (like behind the sink). There was nothing revolting, but some spots weren't sparkling either.

I would stay there again even with these caveats.

We were in St. Pete for the Indy car race and wanted to be downtown. We couldn't have been more pleased. The innkeeper Jana as we as Heather and Roland(the owners) we friendly and very helpful. We decided about two weeks before we left to extend our stay in St. Petersburg by two days and Jana went out of her way to accommodate us over a very busy weekend. We had the Montego with a soaking tub and loved it! The house is furnished with period correct furniture, some antique, some reproduction but all beautiful. The breakfasts were plentiful and quite tasty, cookies and coffee all day, and wine in the evening. Bikes available if you are so inclined, and we couldn't leave without being offered water. The only drawback was the stairs since my wife has some trouble with those but we loved this place

The location couldn't be any better, since it is near a tour/shuttle (that will be free to certain locations soon). They also provide clients with bikes for no extra cost, which we used to drive around the shore. Another great thing about this place is that the breakfast is of deluxe quality and they have cookies up front. The wine and cheese though that their website advertises is not good though. Also, the shower of that specific room was extremely small.

Room Tip: Get a room with a spacious shower or bathtub along with more windows.

Everything about this little place was lovely! I cannot wait to go back and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. We stayed here while in town for a half-marathon. The location is close enough to walk to the nightlife, yet set back enough to get a wonderful night's sleep prior to a big race. Comfy bed, soaking tub big enough for my 6'5" boyfriend, and absolutely beautiful furnishings.

Room Tip: The Vinoy suite was superb

We loved the location and accomodations. The Inn Keeper was so very helpful and our room was wonderful, but the location is what is really the best about this B&B, so close to everything, the harbor, the historical residential area for morning walks and the shops, galleries and museums. The ONLY issue we had was the very small bathroom which really needs updating, other than that it was perfect!

I recently stayed at Beach Drive Inn for 5 nights. Jana, the Inn Keeper went out of her way daily to accommodate our special dietary needs (without be asked to) and gave us helpful directions on how best to see and enjoy the area. The Inn is in a perfect location- one block from the water, bike path, and downtown. The neighborhood was quiet even at night despite it's proximity to the restaurants and pier. We especially enjoyed using the Inn's bicycles instead of renting bikes for the week. Roland and Heather, the Owners, were a delight as well. It was so nice to see them take such care in everything they do in order to make our experience all that it could be.
