We just spent our second long weekend at the Magnuson-Marina Cove. We absolutely love everything the hotel has to offer. On our first trip there, we were traveling with a baby and two dogs. The hotel offers dog-friendly rooms for those traveling with their furry family members. The dog-friendly rooms are just as clean and quaint as the normal rooms and there is a large grassy area devoted to the dogs staying at the hotel. On our most recent trip, we were traveling with a toddler and had requested a pool-view room. We were very happy with the location of our room and the scenery around us as we walked out onto our patio. We’ve had a chance to stay in both a room with two double beds and a room with a king-size bed. Both were very spacious and very clean. One of the things we love the most about the Magnuson is the friendly staff. From the front desk to the restaurants, everyone is so accommodating and willing to go the extra mile to make your stay as wonderful as can be. The food at the restaurant (Periscopes) and lunch café (Banyan Tree) are phenomenal and very reasonably priced. During both of our trips, we spent the majority of our time at the heated pool and on the private beach - both are amazing! There is also a nice playground for kids that our son really enjoyed. There are so many other things that the hotel has to offer (bike rental, shuffleboard, a second pool, a fitness center, …) that we haven’t even had a chance to use on our two trips. The hotel is also very close to St. Pete beach. We will definitely be staying at the Magnuson-Marina Cove again in the future!

Thanks for bringing the family back and staying with us again. What a great review. The weather has been perfect in St. Petersburg all of March. We are so glad that you and your family enjoyed a get-a-way again at our hotel. You are right, there are so many things to do right here on property for kids, families and furry friends. Hope to see you again in 2013.

The hotel is situated in a nice little spot with a small beach of its own, the staff were friendly and very helpful. Theres also a little elavated beach hut which is good to have a drink in and look over the water. Would definitely stay there again

We do have a great spot here in St. Petersburg. Just minutes from so many attractions and beaches. Our Nepa Hut Beach bar out back is loved by our guests and locals. Come back and visit again soon.

This hotel was priced right as it is away from the main traffic and a little bit hard to find, at least from my GPS! The place is set up like a resort on the water. It has 2 pools, only one is heated, it has its own private beach on the water. The double rooms are small, but clean. They have a fridge in them. There is breakfast that is served each day until 11am, which is good for those of us who sleep in. We paid only $259. for 2 nites there, which is good for St Petes.

The only complaint that I have is that the internet service isn't too good. I kept losing it which was a pain.

The wife and I just spent 10 beautiful days in our favorite room at the Maguson. This would be our fifth or sixth stay here at Marina Cove. As always, the service was top notch, the beach and pool area clean and well maintained and every single employee we met, from the front desk to the maintenance folks seemed to go out of their way to be cordual and friendly. Security is very visable and makes numerous rounds throughout the night and early morning hours. Unfortunately the place is becoming more popular every year so the word must be out that this is a great place to stay. We didn't think it could stay undiscovered forever and it hasn't. You're 15 minutes from St Pete Beach and the rates here are quite reasonable. If you like quiet, friendly, out of the way places, you'r sure to enjoy your stay at Marina Cove.

Room Tip: Near the pool but not directly next to it should make you happy.

My son and I had a nice stay. We were in one on the townhouse units. They are dated and smell a little funky. The maid knocked on the door at 9am Sunday and despite repeated responses of "we re in bed" she walked right in - even though we were staying multiple days and not checking out. Very weird.
That said it is laid back and friendly and if you don't care too much about decor the location is great. I That said I think we will stay at the Hyatt next time.
