Have been meaning to check this club out. Had fish chowder and a Cuban sandwich. The chowder wasn't bad at all. But the Cuban sandwich was soggy. The shredded pork tasted old. There were 3 of us for late lunch. Service was ok. The service was cheerful, I would try it again based on reputation.

I have enjoyed good meals and service a number of times as groups I belong to have had luncheons and dinners there. I went there several times with botha women's group from church and a group from Eckerd College.

While this is part of a private club, the restaurant is open to the public for Sunday brunch. The dining area is located on the second floor of the club house so we get a good view of the water while enjoying the good spread of brunch that appeals to our sweet tooth and savoury taste buds. The staff is friendly and attentive to our needs. The fixed price offers value for the money. The dining experience makes our day enjoyable and relaxing.

Have only been here for Sunday brunch, but we went once a couple weeks ago, and it was so good we went back last weekend, too. It's a buffet, and I consider myself something of a brunch buffet connoisseur, but this was right up there with the best brunch buffets I've tried all over the country. Selection is great; service is very good (not exceptional, but very good) and ambiance is pleasant. No t-shirts or flip-flops allowed; it's more of a Sunday casual place. Reservations are accepted, but we haven't needed them -- they just seat you in an adjacent room (away from the crowd), which isn't altogether a bad thing, in my opinion.

Omelet and French toast/pancake stations are quick and excellent, but my favorite part of the meal is, oddly enough, the fresh-made donut holes. Amidst all the delicious breakfast staples they have here, it really takes a special donut to make the donuts stand out -- and these donuts are really that special, a very nice touch. The grits are also excellent, and I usually don't even care for grits all that much.

Came to about $37 for the two of us, including tax and included gratuity. The included gratuity is my one complaint about this brunch. I think I'm actually a pretty decent tipper -- I appreciate that the servers work hard, and I know their hourly wages leave a lot to be desired, so I usually tip 20%, and 15% even when I'm disappointed. I also understand the (very good) reasoning behind including gratuity in the check for large parties. But to charge a mandatory 16-18% gratuity (I can't remember the exact figure) for a party of TWO, at a BUFFET -- well, that's just going a little overboard, in my opinion. Truth be told, I'd probably tip about the same here even if it weren't included, and by tipping of my own volition, I'd get some satisfaction out of it. With the gratuity included, though, I don't get that satisfaction, and in fact I'm a little peeved.

Nonetheless, I'll go back -- and soon.
