“Best value in St. Pete”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

Classic old style charmer in the best location in the city. From the greeting we received as we entered the driveway, to the excellent staff at reception, how could it be better? That was before we got to the spacious room, very clean and comfortable, and enjoyed a fantastic view of the bay. The hotel lacks for nothing and is the only place we will ever stay again on future visits to St. Pete. Two hours drive from home, St. Pete is a nice weekend get a way and this hotel makes it even better.

Room Tip: Ask for a bay view

We have heard from many guests before that although they may live nearby, getting away to the Vinoy for a night or two is just "what the doctor ordered" and exactly what was needed. As you mentioned, the resort is beautiful; the surrounding area has so much to offer in terms of things to do and see and our team provides the utmost in care and consideration. All great reasons to stay here at The Vinoy. Thank you for your positive feedback on your experience here, and it's great to know that when you return to the area, you will be joining us at the Vinoy. We look forward to the opportunity of serving you once again.

We booked this hotel for a couple of nights to relax after some manic days at the Orlando parks. The hotel is very picturesque in some lovely kept grounds with very helpful and attentive staff. The rooms are spacious and quite luxurious (robes) and our one had a view eastward over the tennis courts and the water. You are close to the park, the pier and some boutique shops, restaurants and cafés. We had breakfast in the hotel too, which was reasonable value for the type of property. There is also a lovely cafe off the lobby which serves wonderful croissants. The pool is nice too, with great value food being served. If you stay here take 10 minutes to see the hotel history display.

Orlando is certainly wonderful, but I know it was a nice retreat for you to stay at The Vinoy - the perfect ending to a vacation. I appreciate your kind words about the staff, the service, the accommodations and most especially our History Gallery. We pride ourselves on the history of this beautiful gem of a resort. History Tours are also available but if you want a cliff note version, you are right. It's worth stopping by the Gallery (located off our main lobby) for a glimpse back into time. I hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you back soon!

My family and I decided to go to see a Rays game last weekend, and at the last minute found an amazing price for the Vinoy. While I'd been to this hotel 15 years ago, I was surprised at just how wonderful this Renaissance property is.

To say we were impressed is an understatement. The grounds and view are lovely, the people friendly and helpful. Across the cobblestone street is a marina and you have a beautiful view of Tampa Bay and the Pier.

We found there was a shuttle to the stadium, so parking wouldn't be a problem. There are many shops and restaurants close by, so we chose a restaurant on the next block and had a wonderful meal (400 Beach).

The biggest surprise was the bed. I've traveled extensively throughout the US and Canada and I can say without hesitation that it was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on--so comfortable in fact that we almost missed breakfast!

I know this is generally considered an expensive hotel, but if you get the chance and can find one of those really special deals, indulge yourself...

Room Tip: Try to get an seventh floor bay-view room in the towers--sitting on the balcony at night is gorgeous...

What is there to dislike about this hotel! When approaching the hotel, you feel like you are a movie star. It is huge with beautiful palm trees; it is definitely a resort. The valet guys immediately help you, and once inside, the staff also helps you immediately (from checking in to the porters/bell boys). Our room was not ready yet, but we could use the facilities (it was actually ready before requested though). I was there for a conference, and I enjoyed every minute. If you go to a Rays baseball game, the hotel has a shuttle service for $5 per person round trip that takes you to Gate 4 of Tropicana Field. The shuttle starts two hours before the game and leaves on the half hour. After the game, it picks you up again at Gate 4 until an hour after the game (to make sure everyone gets on it). The pool area is great, and the staff there is very attentive too. The hotel is located within minutes of Beach Drive (lots of restaurants and shopping) and nice parks. The only somewhat negative thing I would say about the hotel is that there are so many people staying there because of weddings, conferences, vacations, etc., and so many want to stay up late and party. Normally I am fine with this, but some people were outside in the lounge area (which our room overlooked) until 5 AM and were pretty noisy; we were getting picked up at 530 for our flight and could not sleep very well. But overall, the grounds, service, location, and everything about this hotel were simply amazing, and I would stay here without hesitation!

Room Tip: When we checked in, the man said, "Oh, you have a great view overlooking the marina and the wat...

I have been here a few times now on business and every time I stay I have a wonderful time. This Hotel is an old school hotel with upgrades but from the outside it still looks like a 1920's high class hotel. You are right next to a marina and lot's of shopping and dining right outside the hotel. A few years back the town of St. Petersburg spent a few million dollars on improving their Downtown area so I would suggest you go outside and see how nice it is just to walk all of the surrounding area, most of the roads behind and around the hotel are still Brick roads.

We stayed at the Vinoy in St. Pete while attending a swim meet at the aquatic center in downtown St. Pete. Once again this hotel does not disappoint. The historic building is beautiful. The staff goes above and beyond to be courteous and helpful. One of the bell hops even remembers my kids from the last few times we have been there while in town for swim meets and always wishes them luck and encourages them. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The new tower with the balconies offers beautiful views and while affording privacy to sit and relax on the balcony. Large bathroom and closet too! The beds are comfortable. They also have activities for the kids. Friday night included a movie by the pool and root beer floats. The pool is beautiful with a waterfall you can go behind. Can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: The tower rooms have a balcony and are closer to the parking garage and you self park. It makes it...
