“Pretty Good”
Reviewed 17 November 2013

I was concerned with the number of not great reviews on TA.

I was encouraged by a buy 2 nights get one free with $100 food credit deal.

I was glad I did. Room was excellent. Good size for a 1 BR unit which was remodeled. My buddy has a unit at South Seas Resort on Captiva. He came by after golf and he was impressed.

There was a washer and dryer in unit and I picked up some laundry detergent at Bailey's General Store.

They do not state they have safes in unit on their website which they do have.

I was not impressed with beach as water is still brownish from Lake O. runoff and a million washed shells on the beach making walking and beach activities sometimes painful on the feet.

Pool is smallish for the size of property and really lacks shade/umbrellas that should be standard.

Overall for the price we paid we did okay....but I hate the daily resort fee.

Room Tip: Make sure to get an updated room! Make sure your room has a washer and dryer!

This is a condo facility with multiple buildings and pools and a main building in the center. You pay depending on size, location and view of your condo. We went on on the recommendation of friends who had taken their kids for a winter getaway. It was an icy cold winter, so we flew down for a long weekend. Ahhhhh, lovely. Sanibel can be iffy in February, as it's not far enough south to be guaranteed warm weather at this time, but we had great days. Our girls were 6 and 10 which was perfect for the 2 bedroom condo. 2 bathrooms and an open kitchen/dining/living room with a balcony as well. Again, it's an individually owned condo, so ours showed a bit of wear and tear, but with kids, I'd rather not have things too pristine. We hit the grocery, so we had things for breakfast and lunch and could use our fully stocked kitchen. I would recommend going to the main pool by the club house for many reasons: It has a small but fun slide, you can use floats, they will have an occasional kid-friendly activity, you can be loud (we first went to a smaller pool we could see from our balcony and quickly were subjected to dirty looks by older residents relaxing there---because our kids were laughing loudly)…and lastly, there is great food and drink service at the pool which you can charge to your room. Sanibel is easy living, so we rented bikes for the day and explored the island. There are tennis courts and other small rec areas on the property. Oh, almost forgot the clean beach with great sea shells right next to you!!! Overall, a great winter getaway that makes things easy for a family.

Room Tip: There are no elevators, so be careful if you have mobility issues (or just don't want to carry a...

Thrilled with accommodations! The Sundial Resort is steps away from the gulf so beach access is simple. My studio was so spacious & extremely clean with plenty of room and the full kitchen was such a treat! Lunch was delicious, service was prompt. We opted to dine on the outdoor terrace overlooking the main pool and ocean which was quite fun and comfortable. Jerry's market is the nearest grocery store & we stocked the fridge to enjoy food on hand in our suite. The resort offered activities throughout the day. Bikes were available to ride around the island and the tennis courts were in great condition! The Sundial Beach Resort is absolutely worth visiting again!

Sanibel Island is beautiful with a great beach filled with shells. The resort offered free bikes loans which meant that getting around the island was easy (they even had bike paths). We had a suit with two bedrooms and a kitchen which was great but it felt a bit dated. Everything we needed was there. The pools at the resort were small and crowded even though we were there off-season.

we did not upgrade to the RESORT package - $60 per day? I think.

We rented a condo in building K fourth floor - with friends - rented by owner - gulf front was so close the sound of the waves were awesome. The condo was well supplied with everything you would need - Although the description states high speed internet we did not find that to be true, if you are a techie you would of had a bad week! It would come and go, fortunately we spent muchof our time actually out exploring the island - Shelling, Kayaking, took tram tour of the Wildlife Refuge - and hiked the beach and ate...a lot. First week of November, Wonderful weather mid 80's up to 90 one day - wonderful island. Will be back!

My husband and I stayed for my birthday, first time here. We rented one of the condo's for a week - E207.
Beautifully maintained. Resort is very nice. Only thing was the ants on the beach biting our legs and sometimes as the resort bar they would be biting our legs/feet. Overall great place to stay.
