“Good for the $”
Reviewed 24 May 2012

Our family enjoyed our stay at Seaside. The main reason we chose to stay here was the price, which included beach chairs and umbrellas, bikes and breakfast. We had a room on the first floor with a pool view. The room was not anything fancy just a basic hotel room. It was clean and we didn't see any bugs. There was a refrigerator and microwave which was convenient. There was also a safe. The breakfast was plentiful and included muffins, pastries, bagels. Every person on the staff that we encountered was extremely nice. The only problem we had was when we asked for a wake up call for our early morning flight home, we never got one! Good thing I set my cell phone alarm too or we would have missed our flight! Other than that the place was fine. Sanibel is a great place to unwind and relax.

Very clean rooms, you have your choice between an efficiency with a full kitchen and shower, one bedroom cottage with a screened in porch or hotel style rooms in a two story building all just steps from the beach. (and pet friendly) Fresh beach towels every day, bike rentals on the property, several gas grills to cook your catch of the day or meat from Bailey's General Store down the street. Laundry facility on the premises. This is a bike friendly place, bike paths lead you anywhere you want to go. Had an awesome relaxing weekend. Don't forget to purchase a bottle of "No Seeum" Spray when you check in, the $10 will be very well worth it after watching the sunset on the beach. My second time staying here (they give a discount for repeat customers!)

This was our third time at the Seaside Inn and yet again we had a lovely stay. As we on previous trips we had a Gulf front room we gives great views across the beach and out towards Fort Myers Beach and the coast heading towards the Keys.

If you want a large sophisticated resort then the Seaside Inn is not for you, but if you want a small, friendly, traditional gulf side hotel then this is the place possibly for you. The beach is natural, local laws don't allow the beach to be raked, so there is fair amount of sea debris, but that just adds to the charm. There is plenty of bird life to see, plovers, osprey, pelican, egret etc and if you are lucky the daily swim by of dolphins.

Beach chairs and umbrellas are provided daily on the beach, more than enough for the guests, as well as more by the pool. The room had been updated since our previous visit with new large TV and carpet.

The hotel provides a daily breakfast basket, but over a few days this does become a bit samish, so we just supplement with cereal and toast from the local shops.

Will we return, I hope so.

Room Tip: The Gulf Front rooms are worth the upgrade to get the views.

We only stayed for one night with our 9 year old son. We chose this hotel because we had family vacationing at the property next door. We were given room 112 -- the 2nd floor of the small building nearest the office. We shared a balcony with just one other room (we each had a small table and 2 chairs.) The room was small but more than adequate -- 2 queen beds, table and 2 chairs, closet, large flat screen tv, small kitchenette (coffeemaker, toaster, microwave, sink, and basic dishes), and nice size bathroom. We were surprised by the breakfast basket in the room. Nothing fancy -- bagels & cream cheese, danish, fruit, juice, hard boiled eggs, coffee & tea -- but so nice not to have to worry about breakfast! We headed out to the pool on Saturday afternoon, and were greeted by ice cream, sangria, and lemonade -- they do this twice a week. There is a nice area to clean shells. They have beach chairs and umbrellas on the beach. We were surprised at how close it is to the Sanibel lighthouse -- we ran down there on Sunday morning, but you could easily walk there from the beach if you don't mind a longer stroll. They had bikes to borrow, although we did not take advantage of it. The staff is super friendly. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: The small building near the office has great views of the beach from the 2nd floor (there are 2 room...
