Description: George & Wendy Schnapp both moved to Sanibel Island in 2002, George from Buffalo and Wendy from Chicagoland. They met on the island, fell in love and married in 2007. George has been in the restaurant business for over 30 years. Together they opened George & Wendy's Seafood Grille in 2011 to provide a place where locals and visitors could come and enjoy good food, drinks and entertainment. We are open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week offering an extensive menu sure to please any palate. The Chef and General Manager work together with their team to provide a welcoming dining experience for all. George and Wendy's Seafood Grille offers one of largest Hand-Crafted Cocktail menus on the islands, 20 beers on tap, an extensive wine list and a full liquor bar. Entertainment is provided most weekday evenings and weekends. Kid meals are served on a souvenir Frisbee to enjoy. T-Shirts, hats and local artwork are also available for purchase. We are open late for dinner and offer a late night dining menu as well. It's fun for the whole family.

Staff talked to each other loudly about summer tourists being bad tippers. I had to ask for water three times. We ordered alcoholic beverages and lunch items. I guess the staff eats with their fingers because they never brought us silver ware or real napkins. We had the small coaster napkins under our drinks but nothing else while they visited with each other about their sad lot in life. So I gave our server 10% and I usually tip at 22% on vacation but they actually got more than they deserved. It's really a shame because the food was good but they never asked if we needed another drink. I could not get their attention to get forks . The place only had two other tables busy and when my son andI left there was no one else.

We were actually trying to find another place for lunch that happened to be closed and found George & Wendy's. It was past lunchtime so it was not busy plus it is off season. I have to say how accommodating the staff was to changing the TV to the channel we wanted (there are a good number of TV 's in the bar area), letting us change tables and moving our drinks for us, plus overall good service and menu suggestions. The Grouper rueben, blackened, was recommended and was very good! We also ordered the chicken Caesar wrap which was good as well, The drinks were nice and cold. The usual suspects on draft plus a couple of microbrews and a couple of rotating" drafts". Overall we are glad we stopped in. A nice lunch on a nice day in Sanibel.
