“Unit #403”
Reviewed 30 March 2014 via mobile

Overall, complex was nice and well maintained. This unit was described as having a partial ocean views. Not quite.... Unit was well equipped, nice furniture, and updated kitchen. Unfortunately, all of this was on top of very dated and dirty carpet. There was a funny smell too.... Bathrooms also are in need of a remodel. For a price of this unit, I expected more...

Pool was wonderful. Never too crowded and a great temperature. Short walk to beach.

Complex was also close to town so you could walk to Billy's to rent bikes.

great property with beautiful views, you are on the beach in 2 seconds. overall property is very meticulously cared for. however our condo #144 was a disappointment with stained brown carpeting, old stale smelling apartment, drippy marks on wall in bathroom were totally gross, bed spreads did not seem to have been recently cleaned. Living area furniture upholstery was brown and stained, we had to cover with sheets in oder to "relax' in living area. Kitchen area however was very clean and neat. we had to run out to purchase some sachets to sit in bedrooms to mask stale odors. this unit has great views and with a little updating would be very cute and a lot more comfortable.

Room Tip: we had a room on top floor overlooking beach area. it was beautiful view.

Have stayed for the last three years. Love it! Comfortable, 3rd floor unit, clean, neat, quiet and very well decorated. Easy walk to the beach (10mins) with white sand abounding. The pool is, large with lots of chairs. We usually stay just after the "Spring Breakers," go home! Peaceful quiet and just wonderfully warm. Looking forward to another stay this year. Especially after the winter we are experiencing this year.

We go to Sanibel Island every year for vacation. We stayed and Loggerhead Cay for the first time last year and we loved it. The property is well kept, quiet and convenient on right on the beach. They are children and pet friendly. We will be taking out twin babies to Sanibel Island for the first time this year and we will be staying at Loggerhead Cay again. Definitely a nice place for families to stay.

We stayed in a 3rd floor unit that was reasonably updated, though about as far from the beach as could be. Still, it was only a short walk there. This complex seems very well-maintained, and the location is great. We liked the fact that there are assigned parking places. This is definitely a complex that is very popular with families.
The only negatives are that the walls are thin. The first night there, I kept wishing my husband would turn off the TV in the living room because it was so loud. It turns out that he was in bed, and it was a TV in another unit. Also, there is a tremendous amount of noise from the inner courtyard where the pool is located.

One causeway onto Sanibel Island, turn right onto one main road (Periwinkle Way) that stretches the length of the island, cars lined up on PW to reach condo/hotel hub, restaurants, Captiva to the north... But wait- Loggerhead Cay is just 3 minutes straight ahead from the causeway. Absolutely ideal location - easy in, easy out, away from the traffic and the crowds. Bring your bikes, ride the paved bicycle dedicated paths, and smile as you peddle past the line of unmoving cars on your way to the restaurants, shopping, grocery, farmers market, "Ding" Darling wildlife reserve. Every location is convenient, scenic, and reachable by bike. The complex is beautifully maintained. The pool and beach are steps away from every unit. Yes, there are rules against noise, lights, and rowdy play in the courtyard, but that is one of many reasons we appreciate Sanibel. If you seek a "party" atmosphere - then go to Ft Myers Beach. If you enjoy a low-key, nature-filled respite, then you will find it in Sanibel.

The unit is badly dated. You need a degree in electrical engineering operate the remote controls for the TV. The "doors" to the bedroom are some kinda crazy folding door and the sliding doors to then beach were worn out 10 years ago. The beach is a nice feature. Basic touches like beach towels, salt and pepper are missing. The stay here was pricey so I would have expected a few basic touches. It was not as clean as I would expect. I am not a fussy traveller, if I were there are things that would bother me. They did bother my wife. The unit looks like one someone is running it as a cash cow, doing the absolute minimum to keep the cash flowing.
