Pointe Santo de Sanibel is a very nice condo complex located directly on a nice section of the beach. Unit B-31 is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath spacious unit nicely furnished and well appointed. The unit came well stocked with everything need for a great stay. This included dish soap, paper towels and every kitchen gadget you could think of. The owners were wonderful to deal with and very accommodating. The unit even include 2 bikes to use while visiting Sanibel. We've been coming to Sanibel longer than I care to admit and this is one of the nicer properties on the beach. The complex is neat, clean and well cared for just as is unit B-31.

Room Tip: All the units have a screened porch with very nice views.

Port Santo is a very well maintained property and this unit is very nice. Clean, great view of pond and the ocean. Everything you need. Has beach chairs, umbrella, beach towels…. Owner has made sure everything is in good condition. First time on Sanibel and won't be the last.

Room Tip: Choose 3rd floor or 4th floor for quieter location. C-35 and C-36 here at Santo are good units.

Went to Sanibel for a wedding and rented this condo to spend the week. Our first experience on Sanibel and it will not be our last. First, we were more than satisfied with our decision to stay at Pointe Santo. Beautiful facility that is well maintained and provides a quiet comfortable vacation. The beach area has lounge chairs available, unfortunately they keep them connected by a cable and you can't take them far onto the beach. However, they have a nice size beach available and provide a volleyball area which was in very good shape. A ball is available daily. The pool area is small but very nice and they have a hot tub near the pool. The beach is too pretty to sit by the pool but if it does begin to get too hot you have that option. The facility also provides industrial grade outdoor gas grills that we used one night. I believe there are 9 available on first come, first serve basis. They were extremely clean and efficient. In fact, I saw staff wiping them down and cleaning them one day. I found cooking on the grills one of the best ways to meet other visitors.

My wife and I drove around the island as well as Captiva and would return to Pointe Santo as they are close to the restaurant area and provide all the amenities for an enjoyable vacation. The units are privately owned, however professionally maintained by Royal Shell. They provide security patrols at night, and the maintenance of the area was impeccable. The island has a very relaxing, almost tropical feel as they have controlled building. No large high rises on this island and they have maintained greenery in an around the island to keep the island appeal. We drove to Ft. Myers Beach and Bonita Springs one day and discovered a much different look, with large high rises and cement everywhere you looked.

The unit we stayed in (D-31) provided everything we needed for a great week long vacation. The master bed is a large King size mattress of high quality. Not too stiff and not soft, which was very close to ours at home. The twin beds were comfortable as well. The kitchen area is small but you can easily cook and move about. Everything you need for the week is available. We enjoy cooking breakfast in and making a lunch for the beach. The refrigerator worked very well and the ice-maker would easily fill the ice tray every 24hours providing us sufficient ice for the beach and dinner cocktails.

The unit boast 3 flat screen televisions, the largest one being in the living room and HD is available which made watching the hockey playoffs very enjoyable. D31 is one of the furthest units from the beach, but one of the first units as you enter the parking lot. The parking space was directly in front of the stairs. The walk to the beach is very short and allows you to walk through the very well maintained grounds. We had a view of the beach from our Lanai which we enjoyed each morning as we shared coffee and ate breakfast. Everything in the unit is fairly new and well decorated. The owners have added their own personalities in the unit and you begin to feel as you know them. They even have a vacation diary that is kept in the master bedroom and reading the remarks of past travelers proved very interesting.

The owners of this unit provided some extremely useful tips on their website: http://www.my-sanibel-paradise.com/accommodations.html We used their restaurant guide and agreed with their opinions on the reviews. YOU HAVE TO EAT AT TRADER'S CAFE, right next door to Royal Shell where you pick up your keys. Red Snapper and Filet to die for and the spinach salad recipe will be used at home now.

Remember, this is a quiet quaint island that provides beautiful lazy days on the beach and many restaurant and boutique options. Plenty of bicycle trails throughout the island, but not a place for a family that wants action provided for them. We love this kind of vacation (late 40s early 50s.) There is a boat marina where you can rent boats or boat rides, fishing trips etc. Bicycle rentals are plentiful. The beaches provide daily, or for the best shells, nightly shell hunts. As the sun sets the tide goes out and you can find some keepers to bring home.

I also played the DUNES golf course during my stay. The course is not long, under 6000 yards but has water on all 18 holes. It is a bit expensive at $115.00 per round, but one of the prettiest courses I have played. In very good condition and requires you to think and play within yourself or you could empty your bag of golf balls. I only took out the driver once but thoroughly enjoyed the course and played in a little over 3 hours. If you haven't played it is worth playing. I also played Shell Point, just over the bridge and the rate was $55.00 and that was a fun challenging course that I would play again.

Room Tip: STAY in D31! Owners emailed me personally while I was determining where to stay I appreciated the personal contact. You can view the units on-line and as this is a high end resort I would expect them all to be nice. A bldg. and E bldg. are the closest to water if that is important to you. However, with only 5 buildings, none of them are much of a walk the beach.

We enjoyed our stay in C26. It was clean and in an excellent condition with lots of kitchen amenities. The Pool is well kept and the beach is right in front of the condo property. Best choice in Sanibel.

Room Tip: C26 was in excellent condition and we enjoyed all the amenities in the condo.

We have stayed twice at Pointe Santo. This year we were there for two weeks. The maintenance of the grounds is flawless. It is a beautiful place to stay. And we were right on the beach this year. However, we made the mistake of staying in unit E27. The maintenance of this unit was appalling. The screen in the front door was ripped. The shower door in the guest bathroom had not been caulked, so it linked all over the floor every time we used it. The carpeting was stained and dirty. The door to the deli keeper in the refrigerator was broken. The bathroom in the master bath was badly in need of an update. There were no beach chairs or umbrella (just a cover, but no umbrella.) or beach paraphernalia - such as beach towels, as there have been in the condos we have stayed in on Sanibel. Luckily, we drove and brought our own chairs. But I ended up buying an umbrella, beach toys, and towels. All in all, I will be more careful about the unit I stay in the future and will never stay in E27 again.

Room Tip: The rooms - E7, E27, E37, and E47 are in absolutely the best location for easy access to the beach. Just be aware of the condition of E27. Remember, each condo in Pointe Santo has an individual owner that is responsible for maintenance and upgrading, so be careful what you choose.
