“Sand dollars galore this summer”
Reviewed 23 October 2013

Lovely beach, clean...parking and restrooms. Federal spot so gotta pay the fees for parking even with resident pass. So stays kinda quiet.

“This Beach Can Get Busy”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

It's a really nice beach, though. Parking is within easy walking distance. Plan to walk a mile or so in either direction if you are shelling. While walking, be sure to look out over the water to watch the dolphins play and the brown pelicans dive. Down island, you will see brown pelicans resting in the trees in the afternoon.

“Lovely beach, great for shell seeking”
Reviewed 8 July 2013

Didn't know what to expect, but was delighted to find a semi-pristine beach with little/no development on it. Water was wonderfully warm, and my kids loved loved loved looking for shells. We're not beach people, really, but it was a great quiet activity after days at the tourist spots.

“Great hidden beach on Sanibel”
Reviewed 29 May 2013

The beach is a little more remote than most beaches on Sanibel and therefore, Ive never seen it crowded. Shelling is good and if you go during low tide you can see and a lot of very pretty live shells.(you can't keep live shells, but they are neat to see) Millions of sand dollars-you can put your hand down in the water anywhere and pick up a handful of sand dollars. Most sand dollars on this beach are nickel to quarter sized, where as the sand dollars on lighthouse beach are a lot bigger. Very short walk from the car and to the restrooms. A good alternative to Bowman's if you don't want to walk a long way. Restrooms close at 6pm. As with all Sanibel and Captiva beaches, it cost $2 per hour to park and it has an outdoor area to wash off.

“Parking across the street with a little walk”
Reviewed 20 May 2013

The parking area for this beach area is across the street and a little walk away. You can park at the entrance if you are handicap. Bathrooms located right at entrance. We didn't stay to long at this beach as it was a very windy day due to a storm coming in. Beach was not the cleanest one we have been to on the island. Lots of cigarette buts on in the sand and some garbage blowing around. Found a lot of nice shells walking this beach.
