“Devine Shrimp and Grits”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

The shrimp and grits dish at Blue Coyote was the best I've ever had. This is what I always order when it is on the menu and this chef has outdone himself. The restaurant is a feast of warm and inviting colors and the food is always perfect. The new added feature of the eco tour before dinner adds a touch of old Sanibel. What a great addition to Sanibel's list of fine restaurants.

“Not bad…worth a try.”
Reviewed 24 May 2014

Not the best meal I've had on the island but it was fine. Not a whole lot of creativity for the price but again, not bad. We we seated next to a party of four who obviously knew the chef. We weren't bothered by the fact that he came out twice with an amuse-bouche for only them but afterwards he came out again and spent several minutes chatting with them and never once acknowledging any other dinners. Made us feel like we were not worthy of his attention. Just a simple "how was dinner tonight folks" would have been sufficient.

I certainly agree that Chef should have made rounds amongst other patrons. Absolutely! He was slightly focused that night on the other table as it was his two older brothers and his 93 year old mother…all of whom he seldom gets to see. Chef, as well as I, apologize. Thanks for your review!

“Blue Coyote a real treat!”
Reviewed 23 May 2014

We have been coming to Sanibel for 14 years, and were getting tired of the same old restaurants, so we tried Blue Coyote on a whim. It was one of the finest evenings we have ever had on the island! The food was superb (the special seafood marinara was full of seafood), the ambience relaxed and the service was incredibly warm and welcoming. We came early, grabbed a drink from the bar and did the tour around the golf course with our two 12 year old boys... who loved it! We highly recommend doing the tour and the dinner... and making an evening out of it.

“Eco Tour Casual Relaxation”
Reviewed 22 May 2014

Last night a friend and I headed out to dinner for some much needed "relaxation and time to catch up". So we headed out to the Blue Coyote on Sanibel. I had heard about the new eco tour and decided to surprise my friend with this unknown adventure. We were warmly greeted by the owner and manager; and given the details of how to get out and explore the Sanibel Island Golf Course. With some ice cold drinks in hand we headed out on this beautiful piece of paradise. My favorite time of the evening the "golden hour" right before sunset.
My friend squealed with delight as she saw a BOB CAT in the brush, tracked down a snake, spotted big lizards and admired the birds feeding in the grass.
We so enjoyed the beauty of this island paradises that sits right in our own back yard.
Dinner was....as always......pure perfection. Drinks ice cold, food prepared and served with great care. Adventure, relaxed dining experience; and gourmet food! I highly recommend it!

“Summer eco tour is a must!”
Reviewed 18 May 2014

Last night we went to Blue Coyote for dinner. It was my daughter's birthday. We know it will always be excellent food with top notch service. When we arrived we were invited to do a self guided eco tour of the gorgeous Sanibel Island Golf Course. Got a golf cart and off we went! It was great. It was about 7pm and the perfect time to view wildlife. We saw lots of turtles, rabbits and a gator.
Took some great pictures which I hope I am able to upload! Back to the restaurant we went and had the usual delicious dinner. Triple tail was amazing as well as the filet. We will do this all summer.
