Very nice place to just stroll the grounds. Fantastic circus memorabilia. Best art gallery in Florida.

“Many beautiful things to see”
Reviewed 25 November 2013 via mobile

For a relatively small town to be home to such a beautiful collection of art, antiquities and local history is pure pleasure. To walk around the grounds, be among the souring banyan trees and stunning water front property, now that's worth the price of admission! Don't miss the circus museum with a miniature replica of the Ringling circus of old!

“Wonderful Ringling Museum of Art”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

Yesterday I went on a tour of the "House of John" at the Ringling Museum. This is the house which John and Mabel Ringling built for themselves and which sadly Mabel only lived in for three years before she died. The house is very interesting with all its original furnishings including John's suits and shoes - still in his closet.
There are little "trams" which take you from one building in the grounds to the next but it's also easy to walk around. The Circus Museum is fabulous with a huge hand made to scale exhibit (Circus Howard) showing every aspect of circus life. It takes up a large room and is under glass and totally fascinating.

“Worth the visit--ONCE! And, ONCE ONLY!”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

Really old paintings float your boat, then this is the place to see. But, its about as boring for kids as making them sit and watch the Evening News! I'd recommend getting a Nanny for the day and go with your significant other. I've grown up in Sarasota and this is a DEFINITE SNOOZE. MONDAY is FREE, they'll make you think you have to pay, but you don't. Walking the outside grounds is very pleasant--its all been updated--and they have a Golf Cart transit system to help with those who have difficulty walking.

“Breathe taking. So much of the history within the walls and the surrounding grounds and waterway.”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

Upon just parking the vehicle all that is visable it is just so breathe taking. The grounds, the surrounding water way and the John and Mable Museum entrance was an wonder of delight. So much of our history surrounds this area. What an pleasure to learn much more from our tour guide.
