We looked forward to trying Italian Tradition and when they offered a Savor Sarasota menu, we made a reservation. First of all, the restaurant is beautiful.
It has a quietly elegant interior, so we were surprised how casually the hostess
was dressed. Just an observation! The Savor Sarasota menu offered a number
of deliciously described choices. However, the flan was more like a mini quiche
and didn't have much flavor. The grouper, too, although a generous portion,
seemed lacking flavor in spite of its tomato sauce with capers and
olives. And, finally, we were surprised that the creme brulee filled about a third
of the custard cup! It had a creamy texture and its crust a wonderful crunch,
but again not much flavor. The service was efficient, friendly and helpful.
While the setting is charming, all in all the food was a disappointment. We
expected more and doubt we'll return soon. It's unfortunate and we regret
we can't offer a more complimentary review.
