Thanks to these people for helping our feathered friends. For a small fee you can walk through the many different birds they are helping back to good health. Sad that some will never leave, so the money will help them live the best life we can give them.

The Save Our Seabirds centre is a welcome addition to a visit to the Mote marine.
It has improved immensely since we last visited two years ago.

The aviaries are clean, well signed and with good information boards.

It is nice and shady and a welcome break from the sun for an hour or so looking nat all of the birds that have been rescued and are cared for at the center.

My entire family loved the bird sanctuary. The staff was friendly and helpful with information about the birds. We will visit again next year most likely...

I wanted to go to Jungle Gardens until I realised it was a zoo. Although this place does not have flamingos, It has a variety of birds. The staff is super friendly and informative. You get a sheet of paper before you visit the birds. It tells you the birds name and how they were injured. On the cages it tells the type of bird and information about them. It was interesting to see the bird and know it's story. They have exotic parrots that were surrendered and "Cho" a severe macaw would say "hello" and talk to me. it was only $6 to go. Since the place is mostly ran off donations I paid what I would have paid at Jungle Gardens ($16). I would return and visit again.

SAVE OUR SEABIRDS recues, rehabs, and releases birds that are injured, abandoned, or in distress in the Sarasota area. Their mission is to get the birds back in the wild if at all possible. 2/3 of the rescued birds are eventually released. The facility offers an up-close and personal view of birds you could never get close enough to see in the wild: birds of prey, water birds, song birds, and exotics (parrots and macaws). Personal guides are available for private tours. Small facility. Big heart.
