Owner description: Big Cat Habitat and Gulf Coast Sanctuary provides a sanctuary "for life" for the exotic animals currently calling the sanctuary home. Our goal is to create habitats that mimic native environments and are complete with a staff that can provide daily behavioral, sensory, and manipulative enrichment which is the basis for a happy healthy animal in captivity. As we grow and open our habitat to more rescues we will provide the same excellent care while educating the public.

Good show. Very nice 2-3 hour outing. The animals are set free in intervals when the park is closed and are well taken care of. Staff is excellent.

“Great for both kids and adults!”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

This is the closest you'll ever get to big cats and bears without being in the cage with them. The animals are all rescues of some sort and seem content. Be prepared to spend a few extra dollars so that you can feed the bears and the big cats. They also take up a collection during the show. I didn't mind because all of the funds go toward the upkeep of the animals. The show is fun although a little strange. It is more like a group of sisters showing off their pet tricks than a professional training session. These women clearly love the animals and enjoy working with them. If you go into the show tent about 1/2 hour before the show, you can get a seat on one of the low bleacher benches so that you'll be very close to the action. You can also purchase reserved seating (comfy chairs) for $5 each. I opted out of that in favor of buying a good quality t-shirt and beach towel as souvenirs. There is food available but it's basically just hot dogs, fries, and sodas.

“"Up close & personal"”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

This establishment provides a safe and clean environment for animals that are from a variety of backgrounds. The sign at the entrance clearly gives a great explanation of their history. Staff was available for questions. Even though it was a hot day, I was reminded how hot it would be in their native land. Plenty of water and stimulation as well as food. The animals appeared to be happy and interacted with guests as they approached the fences. Lots of variety and the ability to see them very close. The grounds were wheelchair accessible which was a plus. The cats were beautiful and the bears were comical to watch. I enjoyed the visit and would recommend this venue for all ages. $15. admission and free parking.

“Loved it!”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

This place is awesome! Staff knowledgeable and ready to answer questions. My 5 and 7 year old girls loved it! Would recommend a visit. Animals seemed well taken care of and enclosures we clean. Facility was nice. Not sure about bad reviews. Maybe someone from competition is posting? Would go again in a heartbeat!
