“Treasure in SoFlo”

Hesitant to pay the $25 entrance fee we went ahead and did it. Turns out it was an amazing bargain. Food was pricey may want to pack your own in. Be sure to get fortified with the Starbucks Coffee (2nd floor at the entrance building,) as you will need it to keep a head of steam up as you power your way through the extensive grounds and attractions. Really fun and interesting and we capped it off at the Gallery. Astonishing home, grounds and the Art Museum is totally huge and fascinating. This whole experience is truly a trip through time. If you are in the beautiful Sarasota area and are considering passing on this, DO NOT or.........You'll Be Sorry!
Do not miss this spellbinding experience, plan on spending most of a day there.

The docent was well informed and funny. The architecture was beautiful and interesting. The view of the bay was exhilarating.

“Waterfront mansion”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 December 2013

This is the waterfront mansion which is located on the grounds of the John and Mable Ringling estate. It is an interesting look into the lifestyle of days gone past and beautifully maintained for all to see. Well worth the visit since there are so many other attractions located on the grounds which are also worth visiting.

“Fascinating (and sad) Ringling house”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 December 2013

Take the guided tour and learn all about how and who the Ringlings entertained and their life style. Sadly Mabel only lived three years in the house before dying young (complications with diabetes) and John died a few years later totally penniless having left the property in his Will to the State.

“Newport in Sarasota”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 December 2013

One should definitely stop by, especially if you are on the grounds. The mansion has interesting and unique architecture. Inside you see the life of the rich an the famous if that is your thing. However, we found the outside more impressive than the inside. The mansion has a beautiful location on Sarasota Bay and you can just relax on the patio overlooking the bay.
We were not thrilled with the nickel and diming of an upstairs tour with a docent after we paid a very high admission fee for the entire complex.

If you are spending the day on the grounds, you should stop by for a bit.
