I took my sons, ages 12 and 14, on the Nature Safari. The biologist, Jennifer, was very informative and we learned a lot about the sea life found in this area. We live here and still learned things that we did not know before. Sarasota Bay is beautiful, so it was nice that most of the time was spent on the sand bar, in the water searching for the interesting critters who live there. We were lucky enough to see a few dolphins jumping. There were many birds to enjoy watching. The animals we saw were live conchs and whelks, clams, one sea scallop (which was a treat), a flounder, hermit crabs, a spider crab, sting rays (it's ok, don't freak out), sea stars, sand dollars, sea horses, and other types of fish. My 14 year old was not enthusiastic, but he isn't about much these days anyway. My 12 year old absolutely loved it! He caught a lot in his net. It was a lot of fun for those who enjoy learning about sea life.
