“An awesome afternoon in Sarasota Bay”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

I took my sons, ages 12 and 14, on the Nature Safari. The biologist, Jennifer, was very informative and we learned a lot about the sea life found in this area. We live here and still learned things that we did not know before. Sarasota Bay is beautiful, so it was nice that most of the time was spent on the sand bar, in the water searching for the interesting critters who live there. We were lucky enough to see a few dolphins jumping. There were many birds to enjoy watching. The animals we saw were live conchs and whelks, clams, one sea scallop (which was a treat), a flounder, hermit crabs, a spider crab, sting rays (it's ok, don't freak out), sea stars, sand dollars, sea horses, and other types of fish. My 14 year old was not enthusiastic, but he isn't about much these days anyway. My 12 year old absolutely loved it! He caught a lot in his net. It was a lot of fun for those who enjoy learning about sea life.

“Great, relaxing boat tour”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

Very enjoyable 3 hour boat tour. Captain Dan was very nice, well informed and intent on assuring we enjoyed our trip. Originally, we were considering renting our own boat but am glad we went this route. You really need someone with knowledge of the depths of the water to make sure you don't run into a sandbar in the area. Saw dolphins, birds, very nice houses, etc. They also provided drinks and snacks (chips) on the boat.

“Nice tour”
Reviewed 30 May 2014 via mobile

The tour was really nice, Kayla our marine biologist did a great job educating us about the sea life, birds, and the bay. On our trip 2 Dolphins were swimming nearby. They are licensed to put a net out and bring in some neat sea life to share before putting them back. On our trip there were pin fish, pig fish, crabs, and shrimp along with the many different types of sea birds. Looking forward to doing this again next visit.

“Sarasota Bay Explorers”
Reviewed 12 February 2014

Bought the combo ticket, presented a coupon, got my discount and my wife and I enjoyed a lovely day both on the water with Bay Explorers and at Mote's. Both attractions offered very knowledgeable staff who answered most questions. The pontoon boat experience was very good, aided by a gorgeous sunny day on the Bay. The Aquarium is quite informative and well organized. Great photos can be made with the right camera and settings. A super visit and worth a revisit!

“Underwhelmed and disappointed.”
Reviewed 15 October 2013

We went on this cruise on a Sunday afternoon the last week of August. Although there were many kids on the boat, my four year old son was bored out of his mind. There was just not enough going on to keep him entertained. We saw a couple dolphins, but very briefly. The stop on a small island was really a waste of time. My husband and I enjoyed the pass by the rookery - but we were also quite bored with the rest of what there was to offer. Yes, it is interesting that they pull up sea life from the water and pass it around, but it just wasn't impressive enough if you have been to any sort of aquarium. For the price, I would definitely look elsewhere, even though the volunteer who conducted the tour was very friendly. The captain was not, however. For us, it was a cruise through the water with a lot of nothing but that.
