“Quick and easy but very cool”

This is a neat walkway but even cooler is the tall tower you can climb to see for miles around. The Myakka River State Park in general is something everyone must see.

“Very Cool Walk through the trees”
Reviewed 21 January 2014

A fun and well made suspension bridge high above the ground and though the trees. Very nice to see how it is constructed. All natural wood and steel and interesting. Worth the walk though the trails to see such beauty and nature.

“Love the view about the treetops!”
Reviewed 10 January 2014

It is worth going to this state park solely to do the canopy walk! It is not that long and easy to do. There are a few steps to climb to get to the initial 25 feet high and then you walk straight for a bit experiencing a slight sway or bounce depending on how many people are on it. At the end, you climb a tower (a lot of steps) to 74 feet above ground and this is really where you feel like you are above the world. You look down on the trees and can see far into the distance! If you don't like heights, you might not want to linger in the tower, but it feels very stable.

“Worth a stop, if you're in the park”
Reviewed 7 January 2014 via mobile

We enjoyed the canopy walkway, but I would not go to the park JUST for the canopy. Although it was an interesting experience, I didn't quite feel like I was actually in the canopy. We climbed the tower above the trees, which was a unique vantage point and offered a great view. Since it didn't take very long, it made a nice little side trip. Combine with the airboat ride and the wildlife tram tour to make a great day.

“Well constructed and a bit of a thrill!”
Reviewed 2 January 2014

Best part of the visit to Myakka State Park was this walkway! Old and young enjoy clicming the tower, but remember, only 4 on the bridge at a time! It's fun to walk across and be in the canopy of trees! Would love it to be longer or with an additional bridge! Start park fee is $6 per car load
