Fun to see and great to meet Mary Lee who put all this together. Artists go wild here! Across the street from the Ringling College of Art. Must see for eclectic art and sculpture. Free on Thursday from 1300 to 1600.

You start smiling when you walk in the door, and it continues long after you leave. It's such a happy place. Don't miss it.

Wonderful little museum, a nice surprise. More like a gallery for local artists. Free admission (always nice). Terrific, talented artists. Good location. Only takes 90 minutes to enjoy.

This was my second visit to Marietta (they opened about 2 years ago) and every bit as delightful as the first. (I fell in love with the "dancing frogs" and so wished the intertwined creatures doing a tango were for sale.) Some of the exhibits change while others (especially larger ones) are more or less permanent. At first I thought the "guard" near the entrance was a live person. A visit to the largish ladies room is a must - even for the gents - love the sign above a seat that reads SEATING FOR PRINCESSES - OTHERS WILL BE TOAD. The "sculpture" garden out back is great fun and being expanded as time/money allow - there pigs do fly! Giant pink flamingos outside help you find the place, which is near the airport. On the down side, it's open only 1-4 p.m. Thurs, Fri, and Sat.

If you are in Sarasota, don't miss this museum. It was such fun to walk through and look at all the whimsical art pieces collected by Marietta Lee. It is not large but you have to look carefully or you will miss something. It was pure fun walking through this collection. And don't forget to go outside. There are lots of pieces there, too. Check out the cat and dog on the roof. It is a pleasant place to sit, have a cup of coffee and enjoy the day. Oh, and did I mention, admission is free? Donations accepted, of course.
