“Excellent Hotel - Location, Service and Price”
Reviewed 23 July 2012

My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel. It has a great location in downtown Sarasota. It is near all the sights - the beaches, shopping at St Armand's Circle and plenty of dining options. The hotel has a state of the art in design and built in energy efficiencies. It also has a great warmth with all the vivid colors and art work spread throughout the hotel. Our room was outstanding. It was large and gave the feeling of openness. The room furniture was new and well suited to make anyone feel at home. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was superior at customer service. The price was reasonable for the excellence of the facilities and the care you received. We loved our experience at this hotel and would recommend it highly to others.

Room Tip: Enjoy the live music during Happy Hour on the weekends. Relax in the hot and cold spa.

CarpeDiem, thank you very much for all of the positive feedback. It’s always very rewarding to get a glowing review, especially one as specific as yours! We agree that the hotel is in an excellent location and are very grateful to be surrounded by such a fun neighborhood.

Come back and visit any time – we’d be delighted to have you. Anyone who advocates Carpe Diem is A-okay in our book :-) !

We had to book this hotel out of necessity. We had originally booked a different place in Siesta Key that was just a complete dump, so we ended up staying in Sarasota instead. Let me qualify my comments before I get started. I am a Platinum member with Priority Club which is Holiday Inn, Intercontinental, Stay Bridge, Hotel Indigo, and among others. I will have to say, this was the best experience I have ever had staying in a Priority Club hotel. The staff was extremely helpful, polite, and go out of their way to make you feel more comfortable during your stay. They have a small bistro to accommodate your eating needs. They have a spa for your wife's needs, and the rooms are VERY clean and roomy. In our room on the 2nd floor, the bed was comfortable, it had a couch and sitting area, a large bathroom, and also a large wine cooler/fridge. The service was impeccable, the ambiance with the indigo music was outstanding. I can not say enough great things about this hotel. My wife would offer one suggestion, that the rooms be equipped with a continuous fan feature on the A/C to provide some white noise and dampen occasional hall noises. My wife and I will be staying there again.

Thank you Kevin! What a kind review. It means a lot coming from a Platinum member – you certainly know your hotels! We are glad you enjoyed your stay and that you will be returning to visit. We love the suggestion about the fan feature for white noise—we’ll pass that on to Frank, our Director of Engineering, and see if we can have that in place before your next visit.

Please let us know when you’re coming again and if there is anything we can do to make your stay extraordinary!

We loved this hotel. The service was exceptional! They looked up local information for us and placed it under our door. The hotel is beautifully maintained with laminate floors in the rooms, decorative pillows in the hall, and creative murals throughout.

I have worked in the hotel industry for over 15 years and when I travel I am always concern about the cleanliness and the service of the hotel I will be staying at but when I stay at the Indigo Sarasota I don’t have to worry about that. I have stayed at this hotel 3 times in the past 3 years and the hotel’s quality and service are always the same… simply exceptional. Great staff, excellent service and convenient location what more can you ask for.

This hotel is extremely clean and in a great location that is a quick drive to St. Armand's Circle and the beaches. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the rooms are spacious and very well maintained. The hotel bar also has a very nice happy hour. The only drawback of this hotel is the pool is very small, so I would not recommend if you plan on spending more time at the pool then on the beach. Will definitely stay here again.

Thanks Shelly! We’re glad to hear you enjoyed yourself—especially our Happy Hour. We regularly have Melanie Massell, a talented local jazz artist, come in and perform and every Friday we have live music by Herman. It may not be a pool, but we do think you’ll enjoy it. Give us a call before you head back and we’ll update you on Happy Hour happenings!

what a nice little property. after a long. hot day of exploring - you check into your room which is softly playing spa-like music and looks like a marine-coastally decorated martha stewart room. not my personal style, but very welcoming compared to corporate hotels. just a note for pool users - it's the size of a jacuzzi, but beaches aren't too far off.

I recently stayed five nights at the Indigo in order to assist a couple who were also guests. The husband was a post-operative outpatient from Doctors Hospital in Sarasota where he had undergone spinal surgery only days before. Their large studio room comfortably allowed a wheelchair (on loan from the hotel) easy access, the firm bed (with the addition of their own wedge pillow) provided stable support, and the variety of food available by room service eased the recovery considerably. Understandably, this is a rare circumstance. Other guests were at the Indigo for leisure travel or business (including airline crews) reasons. However, this situation revealed the high quality of guest services, the generous care available from the fine staff, and the restful nature of this surprisingly quiet hotel when one is above the ground floor. The lobby itself is a lively area for formal meetings or informal parties, and has an upbeat flavor that is very welcome and welcoming. The hotel's location is conveniently at a midpoint between beaches and interstate highways. Nearby Main Street is a mecca for fine dining (including excellent take-out) and relaxed evenings for those who have them. In short, the Indigo attains a high standard as a well-designed modern, comfortable hotel with a discreet staff, good location in a renewing arts district, and with superbly convenient out-of-weather parking under the hotel itself. My own walks through the nearby neighborhood were an enjoyable break from care-taking, with a first class Publix supermarket and other services to be found well within walking distance.

Room Tip: The Indigo is an I-shaped hotel. Rooms toward the end of the long halls may be most quiet, but no n...

Bokononer, thank you so much! We certainly remember your visit and are pleased that you found it as rewarding as we did. If a guest can find our rooms comfortable after spinal surgery, we imagine they can be comfortable in any setting.

Please come back and visit us again—no major surgery required!
