First time in Sarasota having travelled down from Orlando.
The location of the hotel is great within easy reach of good restaurants and shops.
The choice of restaurants nearby diverted us away from the hotels own restaurant although we did sample the evening bar snacks which were good. As a base this area is well situated to explore . venice- longboat and siesta key all within a short drive.

Thanks for making the trip over to the West Coast! Sarasota has the most Zagat rated restaurants per capita in the state of Florida so I can sympathize with your restaurant dilemma, although Currents is really good as well. It sounds like you got out and really did some of the great outings that we offer but there are many more so I hope we can host you again soon. Thanks for the review!

The hotel is located close to most sites in Sarasota like Botanical Gardens, Mote Aquarium, Siesta Key and Turtle Beach as well as very good restaurants on Main Street like Barnicle Bill's.
The hotel recently completed renovations, but the elevator and room are not very clean or pleasant.
The valet people are very friendly and helpful as well the reception girls. The restaurant at this place is very bad as my ribs were burned and dry with a lot of salt and my wife's fish dinner was also very dry and salty. The staff are very friendly and did not charge us for the chef's error. The swimming pool is very nice and the view from out room was nice as well. The cleaning lady does not clean. We had to tell her to clean the dirt off the switches and floor as well as the stains on the counter. She never vacuumed our room so it was very stuffy and difficult to sleep in.

Room Tip: Get a room as high as possible and as far away from the elevator as possible.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. While it doesn't make up for the experience, I'm glad we were able to adjust the restaurant bill to show good faith. This has already been shared with Chef and he has addressed this issue. Housekeeping has also been made aware of the situation you experiencing. We constantly do internal training to ensure our guests have the best experience and feel the authentic hospitality that this hotel and Hyatt Hotels and Resorts strives for at each interaction. This feedback, while troubling, will help us make small the small tweaks necessary to achieve perfection. We hope that you will give us another chance the next time you are in Sarasota.

Hotel was very nice and updated with a cozy, beach flare. Beautiful views of the inter-coastal and bay. Pool was relaxing and beautiful, although not enough seating. This property is conveniently located less than a mile from downtown Sarasota and the marina.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. The location of the hotel is a strong point as you pointed out, we are less than a mile from downtown and have our own private marina that opens up into the bay. We hope to have you back at the hotel soon and thank you for your feedback on the seating. We will review that during our internal meetings.

Family vacation. I invited my sisters and their families on Spring break and we stayed at the Hyatt Regency. Very beautiful hotel. The pool is not to be missed ! We loved kayaking the marina and paddleboating. One cool morning we thoroughly enjoyed playing games in the garden- bocci and corn hole. Very attentive staff, very accommodating to our large group with small children.
Thank you!

Thank you for laying out the different activities we offer here at the hotel. The water sports are somewhat new to the hotel but have been wildly popular. Our pool has also gone through some changes in recent months with upgraded landscaping and in one month, the start of our summer dive in movies! We look forward to hosting you again soon.

We just completed our stay at the Hyatt (4/15-4/18) and had a great trip. We had an early flight and landed at the hotel at noon. We thought we would have to wait for the check-in time, 4:00pm but the front desk checked us in right away. The lobby and rooms are updated which is nice because the outside could use some work. The nice thing about the hotel is that you can walk to downtown and grab a bite to eat. The hotel offers a shuttle during the week to the beach, St. Armand's Circle, and downtown. We would have liked the hotel to have more times for the shuttle throughout the week. The shuttle runs during the week from 1:00, 5:00, and 7:00. A 9:00 or 9:30 would have changed this four star review to five.
St. Armand's Circle is a very nice area with lots of restaurants. We were disappointed with our restaurant selection, VENEZIA. It looked promising because so many people were waiting to be seated. Our food order took over an hour and every table around us was served before us. We were told our meal was taking a while because we ordered pasta entrees and not pizza. We spoke to the manager and he did absolutely nothing. He offered us a glass of wine for the wait, which didn't make sense because I am seven and half months pregnant. Big thumbs down! Please don't give them your business.
If you venture out to Lido's beach make sure you head south on the beach. Walk along the beach and cross over the rocks. The beach looks cleaner and the sand is nicer.
I would also recommend Toasted Mango's for breakfast. It is only a five minute walk and the food is delish.

The Hyatt is in a good location and they were very accommodating. We requested a late check out and they gave us until two o'clock. We would highly recommend this hotel. Be prepared to pay a $15 resort fee. You get two bottles of water, wifi in your room, shuttle service, and kayaks.

*If you are not renting a car, take a taxi to and from the airport. It's a few bucks cheaper than the shuttle.

Thanks for the review and congrats on your pregnancy! While your experience in St Armand's Circle wasn't the best, I'm glad you got out to the beaches and more of Sarasota than most get to. We look forward to having you back soon with the new addition!

Spending three nights last week (4/9-4/11) at the Hyatt, we were very pleased and impressed with the staff working there. After a long day of travel, Richard from Guest Services greeted us at our car with a helping hand, taking care of our luggage and attending to our initial needs. Then, Victoria at the front desk moved us through the check-in process with a smile and friendly demeanor. In no time we were settled in our room.

The hotel itself was worth the stay. Its ideal location places one conveniently close to all parts of Sarasota and its neighboring keys and beaches. Our room was spacious with a balcony and northern view. The large pool had sufficient chaise lounges and shade. The only time we ate there was for lunch which was okay.

I would definitely book a room there again. While the facilities are fine, it’s the staff that made the stay more enjoyable. From guest services to the front desk to the wait staff, the people working there enhanced our stay.

Room Tip: Avoid a room right next to the elevators. They were generally quiet throughout the night but a lot o...

Thank you for noting the experiences with the staff and remembering their names. We look to recognize individuals for providing authentic hospitality and we will certainly exercise this with Victoria and Richard. We couldn't agree more, the staff really does make the difference. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

We just got back from a 5 day stay at Hyatt (4/10-4/14) and we absolutely loved it! From the lobby, to the rooms, to the pool, all were outstanding, clean, modern, updated and well appointed. I don't understand why prior reviews stated hallways were tired/outdated??? Not the case at all! Hotel staff all were very friendly and courteous. The rooms are quite spacious, however the only downside were the lack of drawer space for myself and 2 teenage boys. But we made do and used the closet shelf to place shorts/tee shirts, etc. Beds were very comfortable and the view was beautiful, overlooking the marina & pool. Although our room did not have the balcony, which was at a higher rate, the alcove had a lounge chair which made for nice place to relax and enjoy the view. The location was perfect, close to downtown, beach & St. Armand's Circle was a short shuttle ride away and fun place to spend the afternoon shopping, eating, etc. However if you missed the free shuttle, a cab ride was up to $13 for a mere 3 mile ride! Each time we took a cab, the driver quoted me a different price, which was annoying! It would be nice for hotel to consider adding more round trips to/from the circle each day.

Pool servers were always available to bring drinks if you needed and they even had servers offering free popsicles each afternoon to all ages, which my boys enjoyed!

Did not take advantage of the restaurant but did have drinks at Current's bar one evening. Each morning we walked to a local restaurant; Toasted Mango which was excellent and conveniently located right across the street. Great place to sit outside and have breakfast each day. Tip: go early or the wait can be up to 30 minutes, but worth the wait :)

We took advantage of the activities included in the resort fee, which were so worth it! The paddle boats were fun and especially the paddle boarding because we encountered a Manatee one of the days and it was such a treat, as it spent quite a while swimming under our boards and hanging out with the group that were lucky enough to have been in the bay at this time! Made for a great experience!

I would definitely recommend choosing Hyatt Regency if you are planning a trip to the Sarasota area. It was such a great place to stay! Trust me, I am a very picky when it comes to hotels and always expect my stays to be Ritz Carlton worthy and this place definitely is! It is a great place for the price (however I have corp rate so paid signifigantly less).

Room Tip: Although I didn't this time, spend the extra to have an outside balcony. It would have been nice...

Thank you for your thorough review of the hotel. You are not the only one who has commented on the lack of drawer space and these reviews are very much taken into consideration when understanding how to remodel or improve the hotel so thank you for that feedback. We hope to see you again soon.
