Had most of our guests for daughter's wedding stay. So hard to review because some was good and some not. The staff that helped hold coordinate the brunch and the cookout for family and friends were awesome! The waitstaff at the restaurant and at both events we hosted were outstanding. The food trays sent to the bride and groom's rooms were such a sweet touch.
The rooms were very small, and the check in staff could not seem to get the rooms billed the right way. By the end of the weekend, my receipt and that of some others had my sister in law's name on it. I have NO idea how that happened. My parents received a bill for their room and they were not supposed to even see a bill. My card was billed when I was told it was not. Just really bad communication.
The room staff was so helpful, and José was a tremendous help getting all of the wedding garb into the rooms.
We arrived for the wedding only to find the front and back of the hotel in a complete construction mode. I was so surprised when we checked in that I was literally speechless.
The good part is that the kids got married... Lido is beautiful!

We certainly wish you had been better informed of our renovations. We are finally getting close to the end of this massive project, and perhaps we see how much we have accomplished and forget to share that there remains some final works to complete. Congratulations on the success of the wedding event!

Standard hotel, not a very good hotel for the price is expensive for the quality of the service and the rooms.
Great location very close to sarasota "down town" you can walk to there and its in front of the beach.

Our location is one of the very best for Lido Key and the beaches. When we complete these last phases of our renovations - we look to be the shining star on the beach.

Room Tip: Be aware when booking using AMOMA, the price maybe more expensive than reserving directly from the hotel chain.

lido Beach Holiday Inn is a little dated (only guess its age at about 30 years old) and parts are starting to show such. They have completed overhauling most of the rooms and are currently updating the public areas, but at $260 a night, it is a bit overpriced based on its current condition. It is all about location, though!

Hotel is located across the street from the Gulf.

The desk clerk (in a back room area = because of the overhaul of the place) noted that we are just arriving at a peak period in Feb. for winter snowbirds & the start of spring break. Sure enough as we drove through the waterfront area, there were many revelers out and about even though the outside temp was a burrrrr 45F.

Up the next morning and looked over the property (work ongoing to upgrade the facility) and got a better appreciation for the current efforts = property looked much more appealing (just wished they were not in the middle of the overhaul right now and charging full price).

The beach is right across the street, and we did find this area of the coast is a lot nicer then where we stayed at Treasure Island = the beaches here have so many more bigger intact sea shells (if you like collecting shells) and the environment / atmosphere in general is sooooooo much less commercial.

Room Tip: You room ether overlooks the Gulf or a cluttered parking lot

We really appreciate that you looked beyond the renovations and speak to the really great location and wonderful staff we have here at the Holiday Inn Lido Beach. We moved out of the temporary lobby space and into our beautiful new lobby just 2 weeks ago. We know you would be pleased with it. We continue to post updates of our progress on our Facebook page - please take a look and see all the wonderful changes.

A truly beautiful view from our 4th floor room which faced the gulf of Mexico and the restraunt on the 7th floor was very nice and also had a spectacular view of the gulf.
The construction was not much of a problem in the main lobby BUT both mornings of our stay (3/8 &3/9) at 8am they started using concrete saws and sandblasting equipment right below our balcony which was so loud and bothersome that we cut our 3 day stay to 2 days because what good is a balcony with a beautiful view when you can't speak with the person you are sitting with and enjoy it.
If you have a gulf view room reserved prepare for a noisy morning wake up..

We are so close to being done with the noise. In fact - today seems very quiet to us. These final little finishing touches should be completed in the next few weeks. And then we will have something lovely, quiet and relaxing to share with all our guests.
