I booked this place for a visit with my husband to the Panhandle along with our daughter's family who recently moved nearby in Alabama, including our 4 grandchildren. It was our first time anywhere on the Panhandle so I knew only what I could learn online about where to choose to stay. I chose this unit because of the good sleeping arrangements for the kids, ease of walking to the beach with a 7 yr. old, 5 yr. old, 3 yr. old and 12 mo. old., and the pool. It turned out to be a great choice. We liked the family vibe of Beachside Villas. It was in a quieter area outside of central Seagrove. The beautiful beach wasn't super crowded and touristy, but our kids found plenty of other kids to play with. People on that stretch of beach were generally either staying in the Beachside Villas or Sugar Dunes or in scattered large waterfront houses. The water stayed shallow for a good distance out, making it a good beach for children. There are comfortable beach chairs and umbrellas available to rent, which we ended up taking advantage of. Get to the beach early before 10 am (better for the heat and sun anyway) to claim your space or the chair rentals will get set up across the closest prime beach space. We found the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking our meals and the supermarket was about 10 minutes away by car (and within that range, plenty of restaurants and shops). The only staples I wished the unit had on hand (and sometimes are in places like this) were coffee filters (bring the basket type, though I left plenty behind for the next people) and salt and pepper. The unit came with a great bunch of sand toys which were wonderful for the kids and saved us from having to go buy some. The bunk beds (top twin and lower full) and trundle were perfect for 3 older kids and would have also worked for the forth child if she wasn't in a travel crib. The second floor location meant we didn't have many stairs to climb and had a nice large balcony that the kids enjoyed. I liked that there were enough chairs for everyone out there and wall hooks for hanging wet suits and towels. There were a couple of State Parks nearby with trails, a nice switch from the beach with our kids who love to hike and my son-in-law who likes to get away from the maddening crowds and into nature. The pool was very close to the unit and gave them a change from the ocean. There is ample parking around the buildings and it it possible to drive up to the beach access in case you want to load all your beach stuff up there rather than carry it. There were games, DVDs and books available for use also. Our only issue was that the wifi router needs to be replaced as it would stop working often and need to be unplugged and plugged back in to reset it. We had a great time though and we'd consider returning again to this rental.
