Every Sunday night before sunset it just happens - the drumming circle drummers bring their drums & percussion instruments and the beat starts. The tribal sounds attract the attendees naturally. See the wonderful photos I have posted from Oct 30th-2011. Bring yourself, a drum, a chair, a blanket, a glass of wine, your lover, your children, a hula hoop – whoever, whatever. Nothing to be inhibited about. Make new friends and sit, dance, move and feel the vibrations from the drumming circle at the Siesta Key public beach. Just a tad south of the main pavilion between lifeguard stands #3 & 4. Follow the tempting sounds. Yes the woman dancing could be a Bedouin dancer or a belly dancer with a saber twirling on her head as she spins around and you become mesmerized. Lots of pretty ladies & handsome men. Scarf dancers & children dot the area. Don’t forget the sunsets – yes these are for real and not enhanced. Plus as stated by coastal expert Dr. Stephen P. Leatherman, Director of FLA Int’l University’s Laboratory for Coastal Research; Siesta Key beaches are #1 in the nation. Siesta Key has the finest & whitest sand in the world. Yes the word! Put your toes in and feel the cool powdery sand. They say it’s 98% quartz – ahhhh Mother Nature!
