Crescent Tower Beachfront
Reviewed 6 March 2014

We have vacationed at Crescent Towers for the last 6 years. We have stayed in units in both the poolside and beachside buildings. We LOVE being in the 2nd story beach side units where we can soak up the beautiful view of the beach, watch the gorgeous sunsets, and leave the patio door open at night to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the ocean.

The units are all individually owned with onsite property management. The manager, Kathy, and the other ladies in the office have always been very helpful. Since the units are all individually owned, they vary in regards to furnishings. Some are more updated than others, but we have found all the different units we've stayed in comfortable. There are laundry facilities, grills, shuffleboard and a pool onsite.

Most of our time is spent soaking up the sun on the the beautiful white sand Crescent Beach. This year, a new beach service has been added. Lounges and umbrellas are set up each morning by a beach attendant down near the water and taken down in the late afternoon. We really appreciate that there is such a nice wide beach and we are able to have a little piece of it all to ourselves. Everyone can spread out rather than guests being right beside each other like some other beaches we've been to. We also enjoy long walks on the beach once or twice a day.

We also enjoy spending lots of time at Captain Curt's and the Sniki Tiki. The food and drinks there are good and they have a really fun staff. We also recommend Clayton's (behind Captain Curt's) for breakfast. Recommended restaurants in Siesta Village are Daiquiri Deck, Siesta Key Oyster Bar and the Village Cafe. Siesta Key Village is roughly a 3 mile drive. There are various free beach ride options available to and from the Village. All operate on a "tips only" basis. On the "mainland", we like Harry's Sports Bar & Grill, Phillippe Creek, Sarasota Brewing Company and The Ale House.

We have enjoyed our vacations at Crescent Towers and always look forward to going back!

The location is great, but that's about it. The staff should be required to go to "hospitality reform school". They were both rude on the phone and in person. The "welcome" consisted of reading a written page of all the things you can't do ( take towels from the bathroom outside, park anywhere but assigned space, move beach chairs, etc.) Then, Kathy , the so called manager, informed me that "good thing you're short and light, cause the mattress on the pull out couch is really thin". Gee, wish I was told that months before when I made the reservation for three adults! All in all it was a fiasco .... I finally got a small refund, since I only stayed three days.
Unit 5 has old ,ugly, broken down furniture and a sleep sofa that must be 25 years old . Please ask lots of questions before going ahead with a booking here. I ended up down the street at a MUCH nicer place, where customer service was top notch.

Room Tip: Avoid Room 5!

My husband and I have been spending the month of January at Crescent Towers for several years. My sisters and I have also been there twice for a girls getaway. We like to stay on the first floor in the end Unit 41. It has recently been updated with some new furniture and decor. The kitchen has everything we need for the cooking we do while we're there. I enjoy the beach and the pool. The new beach service is great! Kathy and the other ladies in the office are always friendly and helpful. We love our stays at Crescent Towers!

You cant get much closer to the beach without actually sleeping on it! This was my second visit for Christmas and New Year at Crescent Towers Beachfront staying in Apartment 40 (highly recommended). I have to say that this apartment is excellent, it is pristine and very well maintained and has all the mod cons including a large flat screen television. The terrace overlooks three miles of the whitest beach you have ever seen and new this year was the beach service. This is very impressive, all the sun beds and yellow umbrellas are laid out on the beach at 9am every day by the beach attendant (on duty all day) and are only for the use of residents, never a problem finding a good spot and the money in this new service was well invested. I really like Crescent Towers, right on the beach, it is very well maintained and Cathy, the manager, is always very helpful. I look forward to my next visit and am already looking at availability! Don't forget to pop across to Captain Curts....they still have the best chowder, ribs and shrimp....they also have great staff!

Room Tip: I have stayed in 34 and 40 and both are great. 2 or 12 are great options too, I had a look at those...

We spent one week in one unit and the second week in another. Suites were very clean. Cathy was great in assisting with anything and giving advice on local activities etc. Very helpful staff. As many have mentioned some updating needs to be done (one units bathroom has no fan for example), and internet was very slow, but overall a lovely place. Beautiful views. We really enjoyed our stay. One thing that would be good that they change (not 100% sure if it's permitted?) is making sure that there is a rule no smoking anywhere on the premise. When sitting on patio us non smokers don't want to smell and inhale cigars and cigarettes :(

Room Tip: bottom floor best for families, those with kids.

Stayed here for four nights at the end of September. 2nd floor unit. This was a nice studio condo. Could use some updating, but very clean. The view and beach were wonderful. Convenient location to walk to a few restaurants, stores, etc. Especially liked Captain Curt's up the street. Crescent Towers is a short ride to the village. Would suggest some hooks in the bathroom as there is no place to hang anything. The a/c is very noisy and goes on and off constantly. Yes, there are rules for guests, but I considered them common sense and courtesy rules. Since this was off season, it was fairly quiet on the beach. Would stay again.

Room Tip: We liked upstairs for privacy.

We stayed here last week and the beach, water and views are superb. This property is located directly on Crescent Beach and the white, white sand and green Gulf make for a mezmerizing view. The property consists of 2 two story multi unit buildings, reminiscent of a mid-century motel. The front building faces the exit road and the rear building faces the Gulf and beach. The unit we rented was pretty well worn and was a studio unit with a large bed and a sitting area with a queen sized sofa bed. The kitchen was old with a rust marked fridge, a semi-workable stove , and a coffee pot and toaster both of which worked on a limited basis. All of these units are privately owned and managed by an onsite management office. We really only used the kitchen for breakfast and snacks so lack of nice facilities wasn't that important. The location is central and right off of the Rt. 72 bridge. Easy access to shopping and dining. Don't miss Javier's, an easy walk from the unit and we liked Cap'n. Curts Sniki Tiki Bar for lunch. Good Drinks and Sandwiches. We also liked Turtles and Ophelia's a short drive South on Midnight Pass Rd. (See my reviews of these spots under restaurants).

Room Tip: Rent an end unit if you can get it and definitely book the beach facing building
