We visited Javier's twice during our week in Siesta Key. I was very happy to have so many organic vegetarian options, but the rest of the menu was extensive enough to please everyone. Some of the highlights of the two meals were the appetizers - the gorgonzola shrimp were amazing, and the bacon wrapped scallops were even better. The house salad is wonderful - a full plate of greens with carrots, peas and sunflower seeds with homemade cilantro Dijon dressing. No boring iceberg lettuce here! My favorite entrée was the cilantro risotto. My husband enjoyed the spicy pepper steak, and the potato that came with it (roasted with garlic) may have been the best potato we've ever tasted. The service was good, with a very relaxed pace. Highly recommended!

This is one of our favorite restaurants. The atmosphere is small and intimate. Peruvian decoration and wonderful peruvian dishes. They have delicious tapas and wonderful entrees. We had a wonderful bottle of Chilean wine as well that was $26.00. I had a delicious vegetarian cilantro risotto that was very flavorful and so large that I brought half of it home for lunch the next day! My partner had a delicious white fish cooked with wonderful spices. We shared a ceviche that was one of the best I have ever eaten as an appetizer. We decided that we will go back another time and get just an appetizer so that we can have the bananas foster which looked so good but we were too full to try! I highly recommend this restaurant which is family owed and operated! We went in July and had to wait for a table so I highly recommend reservations.

We visited Javier's in Siesta Key for the second time on July 1, 2014. The menu was extensive, specializing in Peruvian entrees, as well as many classic favorites. Service was wonderful- attentive, but not overdone. The food was superb. You need to go here whenever visiting Siesta Key.

If you love tapas, you will love Javier's. Our party of three had their discounted 4-course tapas meal for $26 each. We each got different food so we can sample it all. The food was fresh and had many organic choices. The desserts were out of this world. You have to try the banana foster with plantains instead....yum. Only reason why we didn't give five stars is because of the atmosphere. Its a small restaurant but the decorations, paint and carpet were very out-dated. Also, we were charged an automatic 18% gratuity even with a small party of three.

This was our first visit to Javier's PERUVIAN CUISINE we are particularly fond of this type of cuisine..........First of all, they are located in a strip mall.( do not let this sway anyone from enjoying this great place!).......yet it was quite charming and very welcoming when we arrived.....also the bathrooms were immaculate...this is one of the things we check out first......both of us went into the bathrooms and both were totally clean, no complaints......we feel that is a testimony to the kitchen.......We had a groupon. Yet we had heard so many wonderful remarks about this wonderful and unique restaurant we could not resist. NO MSG in any dishes.......I have a huge allergy......so that made it very attractive. We arrived, ordered house wine, white, and red, they were pretty good, 6.50 per glass.......we ordered another later, but we could have had a bottle to share for less........just an fyi.......First course, bread with a spicy red pepper sauce.......very good , and very spicy, it came with warnings! We ordered the naked calamari with garlic aioli. DELICIOUS. we asked for the aioli were told it came drizzled over the calamari, but we did not taste or see it, yet they were very nice and brought us a serving of this on the side with no extra charge ( unlike DARWIN'S that charge for any extra condiments that you ask for) Calamari were sautéed no breading, yes totally wonderful.......we also ordered the scallop and pasta dish...This was amazing. Many scallops wrapped in bacon served over pasta......the pasta was in a sauce, ( not italian in any way) with tomato, mushrooms, and herbs......it was very delicious..we shared this, we loved it! The pasta was not like any we had in a recent trip to Italy, and we were happy! It was delicious, had a unique flavor and sauce.....Highly recommended. Loved this experience. Marta was our server, she was kind , knowledgeable and efficient. Only criticism, would be that without the groupon, it is a bit pricey. We will return, they have a great menu including appetizer and dessert, that is worth checking out for $ 26 per person. We are not cheap....we love good food.....love to support local businesses also......This is a clean, inviting place that has great food, ethnic appeal, and a friendly environment. Enjoy!
