“A Great Place to Stay on Crescent Beach”
Reviewed 28 November 2012

We have been vacationing on Siesta Key for many years. We used to stay at an adjacent property, but, on our last stay there, we had a problem with noise from the people staying above us, so we decided to try the one of the villas in Casa Blanca. No neighbors above or below and there are no shared walls. We were concerned about giving up the ocean view, but it turned out that we never missed it. The villas are quiet and convenient to the pool and the beach. The best benefit turned out to be no elevator. You park your car next to the door. The luggage goes from the trunk to the room with no cart. The same goes for the groceries. Our beach stuff goes out the door and down to the beach with no hassle. This just simplifies our vacation.
The units are all different in layout and furnishing. We looked through the photos to find the ones that were remodeled and appealed to us. On our first stay we picked a unit that turned out to have hard mattresses. After one night, the office moved us to a unit that had the pillow top mattresses that we prefer. We have now stayed in C-9 for several trips and we like the layout and furnishing. The unit is always clean when we arrive. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The beach in this section is wider so there is plenty of room for activities and the property provides beach chairs and loungers. Casa Blanca is now our preferred place to stay on Siesta Key.

Room Tip: Look at the pictures of each unit and pick one that has been remodeled.

The Casa Blanca Villas as a whole was worth it. The grounds and pool were great.
We stayed in D8 which needed some updating, and a better cleaning.I would not stay in this unit again unless some changes were made. The location was great and only a minute walk to the beach. Each unit is individually owned and decorated so some are better than others. You can view them on the website. We will stay again, but in a different unit.

We stayed at the Casa Blanca in Unit 301, and while the location was quite ideal, the unit was horrible. It was not 60's retro - it WAS the 60's, right down to the pink and white marble look formica to the silver lamee wallpaper in the kitchen. There was peeling wallpaper throughout the unit. The carpet was disgusting and should have been replaced with tile 20 years ago. Although the bedroom was quite large, the bed was quite small. The bedding and pillows stunk!!!! There was not even one extra pillow case to put over the pillows. It was disgusting to get into the bed. Even though there were many extra pillows, not a one had a pillow case on it. It was just as disgusting when sitting on the furniture. Had to use a blanket to try to avoid the smell of furniture that had been used by hundreds of people and never cleaned. Not sure even febreeze could have helped. Most, if not all, of the furniture looked like it was purchased in the 60's. The bathrooms were in desparate need of updating. The whole unit needs to be gutted and redone. Although we would consider Casa Blanca again, we would NEVER stay in this unit again and would not recommend this unit to anyone.

Room Tip: Don't stay in Unit 301 unless they gut it, renovate it and buy all new furniture.

We stayed from Saturday to Saturday in villa A8, two bedroom, one bath. We arrived early but our unit was ready shortly after arrival. Large bedrooms with very comfortable bedding. Huge shower (no tub) with great water pressure. The staff was outstanding and helped us with all our needs. The unit was not beach front but only about a 5 minute walk to the beautiful white sand beach. The beach is 6 miles long good for walking, jogging or biking. Beautiful sunsets. You could walk to a few restaurants and bike and kayak rentals but you needed to drive to The Village or take the free taxi. The pool temperature was perfect although next to a busy highway so somewhat noisy. Rec room and laundry facilities on site. Great off season rates. Within 30 to 40 minutes from other great beaches and Myakka State Park. We would stay here again.

We have stayed at CB many times- five of us, and often Grandmother, too. I think it's important to realize what CB is, and what it isn't. CB is not a European-style hotel, and it's not an "all inclusive" vacation package. What it is is a great place to stay for a family vacation. We have enjoyed years of quiet, family stays at CB. The pool is large and heated. The villas vary in size as CB has a variety of housing options. We started at CB years ago as some villas and apartments allow six people to stay just a few feet from the beach at a reasonable price. My parents have come several times and rented smaller villas- less expensive, but fine for just two people. One writer wrote about CB not being luxurious- perhaps this is so. But, CB is clean, convenient, beachside, and family-friendly.

We have stayed at the same villa for some years. During our most recent stay, the villa owner phoned us and thanked us for our many visits. The next day, a very generous gift arrived for us. Wow! That's another thing we like about CB- you feel like you're staying in a house, not in a hotel.

CB does require a $300 deposit. We have never had a problem having it returned. CB still uses checks for the refund, but the check has always arrived in 2-4 weeks.

We have stayed at CB many times and hope for many more!

Room Tip: Choose a room that's right for you by looking at the "Reservations" page on Casa Blanc...

My husband and I stayed in apt 204 right on the beach. The apt was clean and beautifully decorated in blues and gold. The kitchen had every item we needed to have our meals in. The balcony was screened in with a table and chairs so we could eat our meals while still being part of the ocean experience. The pool was nice, too. The only slight problem we had was that some of the other patrons of the Casa Blanca chose NOT to follow the posted rules at the pool and even though there was a camera on the pool area, no one called them on it. Kids on floats and ppl smoking cigarettes in the pool area were a negative experience for the rest of us trying to enjoy our vacations. All the screaming kids not being watched by their parents while others are present is a sign of the times, I suppose. Maybe a sign reminding all patrons that we should respect one another might help...but probably not! Anyway, we did enjoy ourselves and the Casa Blanca is def a place we would re-visit

Vacations are to be SPECIAL with Accomodations included. These Villas are anything but!. The Villas are individually owned. Definitely for Budget minded travelers. All Villas promote a photo indicating you are renting beachfront....NOT. The beach is about 8 -10 minute walk down the road. The only Beachfront rentals are the APTS...not the VILLAS. We had 2B/2B..maybe 780 sq Ft. Kitchen galley only allowed 2 people at a time.Close Frigerator to open the oven. You are crammed next door to the next villa. Inner outer walls...you can hear EVERYTHING. The road going through the complex:you can sit on the small front patio and hear an entire conversation from folks across the road....:maybe the road is 8 ft wide. The Community Room is something out of the 60's It was apparent Budget minded owners appeal to very budget minded tenants. Don't worry about Beaches on Siesta Key: you have miles of fabulous beach............keep looking elsewhere to spend your precious vacation $$s unless you are a DAYS INN customer.
