My husband and I just returned yesterday from 7 glorious days of sun & fun on Siesta Key!!! From all of the reviews, I knew the beach was going to be spectacular, but selecting a decent place to stay isn't always as easy. When looking for a place to stay, It's usually a "spin of the wheel" as to the quality/cleanliness/comfort of a potential vacation rental. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at The Casa Blanca! Everthing was exceptionally neat and clean and well taken care of.
All of the villas are bright white with terracotta roofs. Most have screened in porches. You park right outside your villa. Which makes it so much easier, especially when loading or unloading your luggage.
We stayed in villa C10, which was located midway between the pool and the beach. Each villa is privately owned, therefore each are decorated differently by the individual owners. Go to the website to look at the photos of all the units available for rent to find the one that best suits your needs & tastes. In addition to the villas, there are oceanfront condos too. I imagine they are snapped up quickly.
Our C10 villa was amazing!! It was immaculate inside & out with beautiful landscaping.
The living room and dining area are spacious and open to each other.
The 1 bedroom, 1 bath villa is homey, well furnished with up to date traditional furniture in neutral colors with a few subtle touches of a palm tree theme. Large ceramic tiles and white 2" plantation blinds are throughout the villa. Telephones in the kitchen and bedroom with free local calls, (not sure about long distance). C10 also has its own wi-fi aside from the wi-fi available for the whole property.
The living room has a nice leather sofa that pulls out for additional sleeping, matching love seat, 2 other comfortable leather chairs, glass top coffee & end tables, table and floor lamps and a large flat screen tv with cable. It has a double wide sliding glass door that opens to the screened in porch/lanai.
The dining area has a round glass top table with bronze wrought iron chairs with padded cloth seats. The back door is in this area.
The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, The range has a smooth top, over the range microwave. Dishwasher, ice maker, garbage disposal, toaster, toaster oven, blender and nice cabinets with granite countertops. Kitchen is fully stocked with most everything you might need to prepare full meals. We saved a lot by fixing several meals "at home". Stop by the Publix (seem to be one every few blocks!) and grab the essentials. Their deli has some very good items for a quick meal.
The bedroom is decent size, with a VERY comfortable king size bed, a triple dresser, double closet, 2 bedside tables and room darkening curtains for sleeping late. All bed linens are provided and were very comfortable. Extra blankets were in the top of closet, as were a iron, ironing board, additional storage drawers, plenty of hangers, laundry basket and a drying rack. (we used the drying rack on the screened in porch for drying our swim suits and beach towels)
In a alcove between the bedroom and bathroom, is a vanity area for doing your hair and makeup. There are some shelves with books and games within the alcove.
The bathroom is good sized, with a large shower (no tub), tiled with pretty, tumbled tiles with an all glass front. Towels, washcloths, hand towels, and bathmats are provided.
The screened in porch/lanai has a nice glass & wicker bistrol table and 4 chairs.
It's a super way to enjoy your morning coffee.
The pool is clean & is 9' deep. There plenty of lounge chairs & umbrella tables. The adjacent clubhouse is bright & clean with a ping pong table, nice pool table, a desktop computer, and a small library of books to borrow.
The staff were the icing on the cake! Everyone was helpful, friendly and eager to help make your stay as pleasant as possible!!
Casa Blanca is truly a hidden gem! The pride of ownership shows throughout the property. One reviewer stated "The unit was older", which is true, but these units are solidly built, and have withstood the test of time, along with the harsh heat, salty air, and sand that reeks havoc on everything. The fact that the homeowners have continually reinvested their time and money into keeping their property in tip top shape, shows me that they truly care about their homes and aren't just in it for a fast buck. You won't find that kind of personal dedication in a chain hotel/resort. What you see is what you get here, there aren't tricky camera angles in the photos, or any "creative" description here. And because of that, we intend to quickly make our reservations for next year. And we'll be bringing the whole family!!!
