“Awesome Stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2014

We did a last minute trip to Sarasota with no place to stay. We drove around until we happened upon the Siesta Sands Beach Resort. We had no idea we would get a room but tried anyway. We not only got a room we ended up with an AWESOME room. The place was clean and the view was beautiful. We would come back at anytime but we ended up buying a home in the area. We will be telling everyone about this place!! Thanks Siesta Sands Beach Resort!!!!

Love the location! Siesta Key is a hidden gem. The condo resort is located near the southern end and is very quiet, perfect for families or those looking for a quiet getaway. The gulf waters are beautiful. Many of the condo units have ocean &/or pool views. The units are spacious and clean. We have 3 children and it was perfect for our family.

The negative is that the kitchen was bare and nothing was provided. The only thing provided was soap for the dishwasher. We had to buy dish soap, a sponge, paper towels, etc. No staples were left in the kitchen -- no salt/pepper, sugar, etc. Be prepared to buy anything and everything you may need.

The bathrooms provided bars of soap but no extra toilet paper! Once a week the resort provides a towel exchange for those staying one week or longer and they will give you an extra roll of toilet paper as well.

We stayed in unit 212 which faces the beach and has an awesome view of the sunsets from the deck. We had some minor repair needs (sliding screen door off track, door handle falling off, and no remote for the big screen TV) and called the office. Within ten minutes Jerry arrived and took care of everything. Everytime we saw him he was smiling and had a great attitude. Very friendly office personnel also - I couldn't totally ignore work and they were very helpful and friendly allowing me to use their computer, scanner, and fax machine. I do agree with the post from those who stayed in unit 211 - it would be nice to have more basics (TP, paper towel, trash bags) and not have to pay $20 for two beach chairs and an umbrella per day but I understand this is offered by an outside company for the benefit of the guests. Overall we had a wonderful time and the only downside is that we had to leave to go back home.

Hi Ed M,

Siesta Key sunsets truly are fabulous, aren't they? Your photo is great! Thank you for taking time to write us a review.

We apologize for our maintenance issues and are glad Jerry was able to help. In the future, if you ever need more basics such as toilet paper or trash bags, just stop by the front desk and we'd be happy to supply you with more. Glad you enjoyed you stay with us and we hope to see you again soon!

We were very satisfied! This is our third year staying here and it always nice to return. It is relaxing and beautiful! Always enjoy Siesta Key! The staff is always very helpful and pleasant. Siesta Key have many great eating places and shopping. There is always something to do. We mostly enjoy just sitting with our feet in the sand! We would recommend this resort!

Stayed in unit 211 which was very nice!!! Tile floor, granite countertops and comfy beds made the unit a great place to stay. While beachfront is pricier, the big balcony with table and chairs made it well worth the extra money. Did not go in any of the other units but seems staying back by the pool area with no view would be a huge difference. We visited some friends who were staying down the beach at Horizon's West and our place was by far much nicer and only a few hundred more. I really only have two negative things to say--the unit was shy on the basics--only 2 rolls of TP, no paper towels, no coffee filters, no extra garbage bags etc. Most rentals I have had have some basics that other renters have left behind like salt and pepper, ziploc bags etc. I also think for $2600 a week renters should not have to pay for use of beach chairs and umbrellas.

Room Tip: Unit 211 was beautiful

We stayed in Unit 201 for seven glorious days - why such a high rating: Almost too many reasons but just to try: #1 Pools (2) clean at all times and kept warm -87 degrees. The ocean like the rest of the nation has had a cold winter so swimming for children is just too cold. The clean pool six steps from the door no matter which building you are in is the main reason we will return. #2 The beach was amazing as they say with white sand that never gets hot - sea shells, starfish abundant. #3 - No "spring break riff raff" -secure, quiet, family fun #4 - Proximity to what you need and what you want - a 7-11 in walking distance, a Publix grocery story within 2 miles - and the Siesta Key Village has the best restaurants of any place we have ever visited. #5 - STAFF that responds with a happy attitude to any request you may have - very accommodating! I have one warning which HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RESORT - Stay far away from a Swin and souvenir shop called "Splish Splash" - corner of Stickney Road and Tamiami - They have signs on top of clothing racks that read in big big letters $9.99 - $12.99. Then in very small almost tiny writing in the corner it says "and then an arrow pointing up" There are many many wonderful shops in the area that are darling yet reasonable. Even the key chains, and little junky souvenirs are terribly overpriced - so that's my caution. As far as the Siesta Sands - The best we ever stayed at - we will be back!

Room Tip: There are two buildings - one closer to the beach with the smaller pool - the other building is a bl...

Just returned from 2 weeks at our favorite Florida destination! We love Siesta Sands and Siesta Key. Easy access to the beautiful beach, good food, fun places to shop and great people. Our unit was lovely and well equipped and the staff was great - professional and courteous. We look forward to returning next year!
