Although the Lodge is a little off the beaten track it is warm, welcoming and has great views of the Shropshire countryside. The breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. Car parking is easy. Rooms are new and very comfortable. Nearby is the lovely Melverley wooden church, which is worth a visit. There are campers "cabins" available if you want to be outdoors with excellent toilet and wetroom facilities. Give our regards to the donkeys.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the B and B in the Banff room for one night at the beginning of October and we wished we would have stayed longer, we will definitely be back! As soon as we arrived Rachael greeted us and gave us a very warm welcome. The lodge is decorated with so much attention to detail that it really stands out. Our room was spotlessly clean and contained everything we needed. Rachael and Mark gave us recommendations on where to eat for the evening and Rachael even very kindly offered to give us a lift. The owners are wonderful hosts and will happily go out of their way to make sure you have the best possible stay. Breakfast was delicious and there were many options on the menu, we even got to choose what time we wanted to eat. I would recommend staying here to anyone as its such a lovely place and the owners really make you feel at home!

We recently had a one night stay in one of the camping pods. I must say the pod and facilities were immaculate. The owners were really friendly and nothing seemed to much trouble. Its a wonderful rural country side setting and we will definitely be booking a pod their again in the future.

What a lovely b&b!
Spotlessly clean, the beds were the comfiest we have stayed in, the shower was such a bonus and the breakfast was full of flavour!

We stayed in the jasper room for one night and couldn't have felt any more welcome and relaxed. Rachel was there to greet us, offering a hugely warm and friendly welcome. I believe she would go out of her way to make sure you had the best possible stay.

The decor was really charming and cosy, the honesty bar is a brilliant idea and the b&b is perfectly situated away from civilization but close enough to drive to local pubs and villages.

A home away from home. Highly recommended, we will definitely stay again!

Off the beaten track, but very well worth a visit. The rooms are excellent, with a lovely shared, lounge and kitchen area. The views are stunning from the patio. The pub in the village has closed but the proprietor gave us a lift the The Old Hand and Diamond, where the food was lovely. All in all a very very pleasent experience.

My girlfiend and I would highly recommend anybody planning a stay in the Shrewsbury area check this place out. It's a real rural retreat and a place we would defiantly return to.

We had a one night stay after a wedding reception near by and the whole experience from start to finish we top class. The room was cozy the bed was comfy and the shower was massive! We had great views from the window out across the fields into Wales.

The breakfast was nice, no burnt eggs ;) Our hosts were welcoming and interesting people and to be fair we are dead jealous of their fantastic lifestyle, living the dream :) Thanks Rachel and Mark!

Before we left we went for a walk around the local area. It's a beautiful place and a must even if your only there for a short time.

So a definite 5 out of 5 from us. Go see it for yourself.

We stayed at the big bear lodge very spontaneously and only for one night. However, I will definitely come back. It's a remarkably clean and beautifully place!! Rachael was a lovely host and we absolutely enjoyed our B&B room.

Thanks a lot!!
