“Excellent holiday”
Reviewed 25 August 2013

My second visit and as before it was excellent. Right on the beach. Lovely bar and food is excellent. Comfortable rooms which are cleaned daily. Regular faces of visitors which is really nice and to top it off the lovely Martha. Great place for families and so safe. We will be back again next year.

Room Tip: The suites and maisonettes are the best

We spent 9 days at Agistri and Oasis scala beach, and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The best with Oasis is location, right on the beach. There is a pool, but we never tried it.
The beach is sand, and quite small, but with free sunbeds and umbrellas (be early).
The rooms are basic, without extravagance, but you will find what you need (exept hairdryer :)).
Beachtowels for 2 euros. We stayed in a double room, and enjoyed breakfast every morning. Breakfast is nice with fresh breads, omelets, egs and bacon, cheese and marmelades, everything you need! Personell were very helpful in all matters. We even used the hotels laundry service - perfect!!

We stayed in a seaview room, over the reception. Perfect views, and nice balcony!
Oasis is a good value hotel, and we would higly recommend it!

Room Tip: Spend the extra money on a room with sea view.

A great place! Right on the amazing Agistri beach (with sunbeds ready for you), very clean comfy rooms, a swimming pool and a great restaurant. The staff were most amazing!!
Its ideal for a relaxed but happy vacation - jump to the sea, eat and sleep well. Nice breakfast to start the day and not far from all there is on the island.

This great hotel is located a few meters away from one of the beaches of Scala. We stayed on an absolute diamond of a room, equipped with two TVs, a DVD, media player, refrigerator and two A/C units. The people of the hotel were fantastic and eager to please. In addition, the restaurant of the hotel was a delight featuring great dishes and the occasional live guitarist.

The great weakness of Oasis is that sleep quality is very poor because of the noise. It's a process to get sleeping at night as the hotel's bar makes its presence keenly felt, once even up to 3:30 at night.

Room Tip: If you want to sleep better, ask for a room as far from the bar as possible.

A small hotel, most of the rooms face the pool and the beach. The beach, with crystal clear water, is adjacent to the hotel and offers free sunbeds and umbrellas, not enough of them, though. So - put your towels on the sunbeds you covet the night before and you will have a place in the morning.
The buffet breakfast is nice, and if you would like some better coffee - you can order from the bar (extra), or bring your own. What is the matter with the coffee served in Greek hotels in the morning? AWFUL!!!
Don't count on getting a decent Wi-Fi on the island. Most of the time - no internet.
The rooms are nice, bright and being cleaned every day, friendly staff and a nice bar/restaurant.
Hope to return next year.

Room Tip: Do try to reserve a room that faces the sea.

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel and found the whole holiday totally relaxing. The hotel is situated just a few minutes stroll away from the beach, which was lovely and quiet when we were there (May). The water was crystal clear and swimming was a joy. The sun loungers were free on the beach which saved a little on the expense. The brother and sister who own this hotel did everything in their poor to make our experience enjoyable, including offering us breakfast at what ever time we got up at instead of the set 8.00 - 11.00 time. After staying in many Greek hotels we were delighted with the standard of our bedroom which had a balcony overlooking the sea. Bed linen was changed every day and everything was crisp and white. Mosquito net doors kept us bite free. I loved that they had loads books to choose from in the lobby. Because of the month, the Island was quite, but that was what we wanted ...all the restaurants and bars were open but just not packed. We noticed that nearly all the restaurants/bars etc were getting fresh coats of paint - everything was kept to a really pristine quality. Everywhere that we ate, we enjoyed - especially the fish restaurant around the corner which I can not think of the name but run by a lovely Scottish man. And we also enjoyed the food and Bar in the Oasis. At the weekends the beach got slightly more packed as a lot of the Greeks came over from Athens for the day. My husband commented that it was the first holiday he really relaxed on. The only downside if you brought children might be the pool - it is gorgeous but has no railings around it and I would be terrified that a child fall in by accident. Since returning me have recommended this hotel to two couples - both went at different times and enjoyed the whole experience. Really recommended this hotel and island. The other only down side is that travelling from Ireland you can only travel in on the late flight to Athens and ferrys are stopped at that time ..therefore you have to have accommodation booked in Athens to stay on the first night - but you can get a lovely place to stay there. Ps: the slow ferry drops you off just beside hotel, and if you go on quick both, the owners from hotel will pick you up and drop you off.

Room Tip: Room with a balcony overlooking the sea.

We visit the Oasis every year and have done now for quite a few years. It was always a quality establishment in a great position but it is fair to say that each year, something else about it has improved.
This year, there is smart, new furniture on the bar/restaurant terrace and the balcony furniture has been replaced with better seats.
But, the main reason I am writing this review is regarding the quality of the food. Sure, when in Greece it is great to eat in the traditional Tavernas but if sometimes you like to have dinner with that 'something extra', then the Oasis is the place. The quality of the food and the presentation cannot be beaten anywhere on the Island of Agistri. Combine this with attentive, efficient service and you have the perfect recipe(pun intended).
Possibly what makes the difference is that the Oasis employs a highly experienced chef, rather than 'cooks' - and no disrespect whatsoever to cooks. What's more, the prices of dishes are not inflated, they are on par with all the other places.
