We stayed in house #21, the house was an older home. It met or needs, very clean, very dated, could use some upgrades. When we called with an issue the property mangers were "Johnny on the stop". They were very professional and corrected the issues to the best of their abilities. We stayed there during scallop season and were very happy with the way the resort was run. Quite, family orientated, and safe. Give it a try!

The resort consists of cottages situated among huge oak trees next to the Steinhatchee River. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The houses are all individually owned and rented out either by the resort or by the owner so each one is furnished differently according to the taste of the owner. There is a small petting zoo. We saw several goats, chickens, rabbits and ducks all of which looked healthy and happy. The pool looked beautiful but the spa was not working. The boat slips had water available (bring your own hose) and I believe electricity. Their was a very well set up cleaning station for scallops or fish. Some of the units accept pets and there was a fenced dog run area. The chapel was beautiful from the outside and I assume it was same inside. It would be perfect for a wedding.
A small downside is that the resort is quite a ride from the gulf by boat. The whole river is a no wake zone so it takes almost an hour to get there. We ended up sending several people down the river with the boat and the rest of us drove to Sea Hag Marina and met them there. On the way back in we jumped out, dropped off our scallops to be cleaned and drove the 5 minutes back to the resort while the others enjoyed the beautiful, scenic boat ride.
We stayed in the Victorian cottage #9. It was the entire top floor of the cottage, accessed by stairs from the front entry. Half of the bottom floor was # 7 and half was #8. The unit was beautifully furnished with everything we needed. Plenty of extra towels and linens for the sofa sleepers and roll aways. The bedrooms and bathrooms were small but the living area was huge. The furnishings were in good condition except for the one sofa sleeper which was broken and angled down and the mattresses on the sofas and roll aways have seen better days. It did not have Wifi. It did not accept pets. It was hot humid and buggy but it was Florida in the summer so it is what we expected. The a/c worked great and we took bug spray so there was no problem. We would stay here again.

Let me start by saying that this place is beyond beautiful. Lots of old time houses that are new and very well equipped. We are beach people that love the live bands in the area so we were not sure this would be for us. What a surprise. We went with another couple and totally loved the place. Did some fishing at the dock, swam in the pool and used the spa room which contains what I think is a swim pool, hot tub combined. It was wonderful.

Like others say there is not much to do in the area and only a few restaurants that are more expensive than the usual but we brought food and found a really nice little store in the Marathon station that had fresh cut beef. We got Rib Eye, potatoes, fresh corn and had a little cook out on our private grill right off the porch. Our cottage was #44, Wickersham and the first thing out of each of our mouths as we entered the house was OMG. The place was beautiful. I could live the rest of my life in this house. It is a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath that was furnished with anything you could need. Really, it had an emersion blender, about 5 wine openers, every single kitchen tool you could ask for and the kitchen was heaven.

The house is two stories. The entire downstairs is kitchen and family room, all open. There was a huge screened porch downstairs with a big table that could seat 6, two rockers and a table between them. Upstairs there are two bedrooms. One with a queen so beautifully furnished, another with two queens and in a niche at the top of the stairs had a built in bunk bed. Also a washer and dryer upstairs. Each bedroom opened to a large single screened porch with ping pong table. Yes the porches are that big. There were ceiling fans in the bedrooms, family room and all the porches. In addition the house was very clean and everything appeared to be in new condition. In addition the house is stocked with plenty of games to keep both children and adults busy. Look for them under the window seating next to the fireplace

One other thing that really surprised me that over the fridge there are light bulbs in case you needed one. They even had the little night light bulbs for the bathroom nightlights. Was glad of that because ours was burned out.

We spent the evenings playing Uno and Texas Hold Em on the lower deck. Even though it was the heat of summer we were not hot thanks to the ceiling fans. The property is very quite with the occasional car going by.

We only stayed two nights but could have gone for many more. Like I said, I could have lived in this house.

Room Tip: Cottage 44, Wickersham. In reading the guest book there are many families that rent this cottage yea...

There is so much to do here. The kids love it. Ages 5 and 6. This is our second stay and they always seem to make friends with other children at the pool and playground. The location is beautiful, peaceful.

We had a nice room which was on the second floor. We especially enjoyed the small terrace..a great place to watch the sun go down. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the area.

Our two bedroom unit was nicely furnished, with all the amenities. It is in a very peaceful setting, and the grounds are well manicured, with a lot of flowers in bloom. The petting zoo is fun, and it is nice to just take a stroll and watch the river. This was our second trip to The Landings, and we look forward to going back.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the Victorian, Number 7, and especially having our coffee out on the screened porch.
