I have visited this lighthouse three times now. I love the view of the bay and the fact that they have an observation deck overlooking the bay, refuge and lighthouse. The only thing to keep in mind is if you try to take photos of the lighthouse from the refuge path that there are alligators and other creepy-crawlies in the area. You can easily get wrapped up in taking photos of the tower and not watching where you are walking. Fortunately there is a nice observation deck overlooking the bay, refuge and lighthouse. Parking is limited at the lighthouse, so if you have a RV or larger vehicle, you may not be able to park during peak times.
