If you like sushi and the standard chinese buffet feast... This is the best in Tallahassee and the buffet is available only on Sundays. The doors open at 10am Sundays and continue until early afternoon. I would arrive early because at noon there is always a line to be seated.
For $13.95 you can enjoy a variety of oriental flavors with a glass of water with a lemon. Drinks do cost a few dollars more, though water does a body good. I go for the all you can eat sushi and it is a great value for your money if you love fresh sushi in quanity, prepared correctly.
I am not well versed on the names of the various sushi, but you can expect a nice bowl spicey tuna tar tar (my favorite), at least six or seven different roles of various standard raw and cook sushi selections. Three plates of 2 inch long sliced of salmon, tuna or yellow tail tuna on rice bites to choose from. There is a huge bowl of spicey mayo, ginger and wasabi to serve yourself in small dishes. There is an excellent seaweed salad and a traditional salad with either ginger dressing or sesame dressing to choose from. Your server will bring to the table a soup of your choice. I like miso for its simplicity, but you can have hot and sour or egg drop as well. Eat until you are stuffed.
Now I go strictly for the sushi, however, the traditional chinese buffet is spectacular as well. All the typical dishes you would see on the buffets at most chinese restaurants are served. I believe they are of the highest quality at this restaurant.
I do like the steamed pork dumplings and the red bean/sesame balls in addition to the sushi. They offer a selection of fresh fruit and cakes or cookies for the sweet tooth. All nicely displayed and steaming hot or cold as required.
This is the perfect place to eat if you love sushi and your companions are more interested in the cooked chinese selections.
Alcohol and Beer/Wine are served if ordered.
During the week they offer a typical menu selection and the bento boxes are always a good choice. The spicy mongolian beef is my favorite and you do get a california roll with it. Under $10 with a drink for lunch...not bad!
For a strip mall food joint, Lucy Ho has got it going on... She has been in various locations throughout Tallahassee for at least 40 years. She is well known for providing excellent dining experiences. Good service and quality food choices.
One of my Top 5 favorites in Tallahassee.
