This is a one-of-a-kind place. Furnishings help one understand history and story of family is a lesson in itself. A pleasant surprise.

Guided tours take an hour. Check days and times before visit as we had to make a return trip next day to catch one.
Friendly guide showed us a film then explained about the family that had lived in house. Very informative trip around the house although, with reading and questions, would have liked longer.
The owner had written poetry about the furniture and the poems are attached to the pieces. Not enough time to read the poems which are fascinating. Read as many as you are able to - some are very funny.
Free museum with donation box at end. ( we donated although none was requested by guide).

I visited the Knott House for extra credit for a History Class that I have and I thoroughly enjoyed the visit. The tour guide was great, very well versed on the history of the museum and was patient enough to answer all of my questions. The history and the antiques were amazing. This is a MUST SEE!!

We were at the art festival and it was cold and raining so we went in to warm up. We were pleasantly surprise at how interesting the house was. Lots of Tallahassee history and antiques. The tour guide was excellent. it took u back to the olden days.

The Emancipation Declaration was read out on the steps of this house in 1865, very historic and important occasion, so glad they restored the house, its in a now lovely part of Tallahasse, surrounded by parks, a must visit place.
