We went looking for somewhere to eat dinner on a Friday night without reservations and finally decided to try McClellands because my wife knew about it, being near her work. They have a very extensive menu covering almost anything you would want. I ordered the Bayou Chicken Pasta, which was quite good although most of the cajun spice was on the rim of the plate instead of in the dish. It came with a salad and a roll. My wife had steak skewers over seasoned rice. She is a rice purist and didn't care for the flavoring in the rice but I tried it and thought it was very good. We split a huge piece of chocolate cake for dessert that was surely calorie overload. I also had two good IPAs and the total bill was quite reasonable. Definitely recommend.

Tried this for the first and only time with family and friends. Both people who ordered burgers thought they were dry and not very flavorful (one was the California Burger with avocado and sprouts, the other was a bayou burger with bacon and gorgonzola cheese). Burgers came with a choice of one side and were right around $9. Wife had the coconut fried shrimp and thought it wasn't very filling for $15. Beer was $2.75 for bottled domestic during happy hour(I think they are $3.75 normally). The raw oysters were good, but they were a little pricey at about $13 for a dozen. They do have a nice atmosphere and we had great service. The menu is very large and they offer things other places might not like dolphin.

It's Saturday Night and we wanted Oysters, So we said lets check out the new place McClellands, So we get there and there was about 5 tables full, We sat down ordered drinks, and then asked for Oysters, Guess What, No Oysters! So we said lets try the Conch Fritters, they came and right off we could tell they were not going to be good, They were a very dark brown, What we now know was because of old oil, So we said lets get some Coconut Shrimp, Yes it too was very dark brown, so burnt it cooked all of the coconut off the shrimp, But I had not been punished enough, I ordered the Frog legs, (we did not eat the shrimp) and they also were burnt from the old oil. McClelland's needs to correct its kitchen problems quick or they will be on the long list of bad restaurants that have failed in Tallahassee.

The food was good, however, we thought it was pricey for our lunch choice. In fairness we had oysters and they are becoming rare and expensive. Very friendly staff and good service. A wide variety of beer. The oysters were good-- not Apalachicola but Cedar Key. We all enjoyed our meal--- but bring your credit card or lots of cash. On an interesting note-- The previous owner of the restaurant that was at this location before McClellands "Anthony's" greeted us at the entrance.

Stopped in for a bite to eat with some friends. I was a few minutes later than my friends who ordered a water and lunch for me.The service was terrible!! It took 45 minutes from the time I got there to get my water. I did not see a waitress at all during this time. Refills had to be asked for after another long wait. Lunch took another 30 minutes to arrive. We had to repeatedly ask for the check. We asked to speak to the manager which took another 15 minutes. She seemed bothered to have to speak with us. She put for little effort to make things right. After speaking to us, our waitress returned to the table in tears. We heard repeatedly from the staff that the did not have enough help or cooks. The food was good but the services made it not worth it! It was an uncomfortable situation. Unless, you have two hours to spare at lunch, I would skip a visit to McClelland's!!!
