“Great history lesson”
Reviewed 10 December 2012 via mobile

Enjoyed an afternoon with my girlfriends here. We ate lunch at the Columbia Cafe, located inside the center...fabulous food and sangria. Then we spent a couple of hours touring the museum. I was very disappointed that one of the videos was not working. Other than that enjoyed it. Wish you could pay for someone to tour you though...would be worth it.

“A good family friendly afternoon stop”
Reviewed 7 December 2012

I went here with my family in July 2012.

It had a nice atmosphere and was a lot more hands on and amusing than we were expecting. I'd recommend it to anyone with an interest in local history.

“A quick read on the area”
Reviewed 6 December 2012

From indians to armies to cubans to modern times - exhibits will help you understand how the Tampa Bay area has grown from a Fort to a metropolis. 1/2 day at best, parking on site and nearby.

“First Rate Waterside Museum”
Reviewed 3 December 2012

Located between CHannelside and the Port of Tampa, The museum is new to the skyine of Tampa. It houses three floors of exhibits, many of them interactive, telling the story of Tampa Bay, from natve peoples to the present. day. As one of my "hometowns", Tampa comes into sharp focus with this museum. Definitely worth your time.

“Nice history tour of this area”
Reviewed 30 November 2012

Not a large museum, and a little pricey for the amount on display, but with a discount admission, well worth the price. My group had a docent led tour, which added to the exhibits (you didn't just have to read the signs to get the info) and the history of the Bay area was very interesting (from the time of the first settlers). Current 'extra' exhibit is about coffee and it's effects on the world providing a very informative exhibit. We finished our tour with lunch at the onsite Columbia Restaurant, always a pleasure to enjoy.
