We dined here this past Sunday for lunch, I'd been looking forward to going since they just opened recently. It didn't start well when it took the hostess 10 minutes to acknowledge our presence and seat us, despite being the only people standing at the counter. She seemed far more concerned about the telephone and her cellphone instead of us. Our server was very nice though and asked if this was our first time there. When we said yes she said 'boy you sure picked a bad time, we're swamped!' Wow, didn't know lunch time was a 'bad time' to come?
She recommended an appetizer as it would be a while before we got our lunch, and then took us over to the line to get our food. We stood in that line for almost 15 minutes holding little bowls of uncooked food before we ever got close enough to hand it off to the cooks. We could see our appetizer sitting back at the table getting cold, but there was not much we could do about that. After we dropped off our food to be cooked, it was about another 20 minutes before we finally got our lunch.
I understand it was busy at the time we arrived and it's probably quicker in off hours, but there shouldn't be a 'bad time' for someone to come to your business. The concept seems like an interesting idea, but it seems to fall apart completely if there's a rush of diners. While the food itself was good, I don't think I would return after this experience.
