This little sandwich shop has nothing to do with witches, though any witch would be happy to park her broom here!
This is the place to eat if you are in the area of USF/Tampa, and you need a really quick Wich! First, you will build your own sandwich on a paper menu – selecting the type of sandwich, type of bread, and if you want your bread toasted or not -- or, eliminate the bread and have your Wich in a bowl. Then choose sandwich add-ons from the standard ketchup and mustard to avocado, onion, rice, bean, and tomato.
Any Wich you can imagine is available. I chose the tomato-mozzarella sandwich (also known as the caprese salad) on toasted whole wheat bread with pesto. It was excellent. The ingredients were fresh and tasty, and entirely filled the center of the whole wheat bun. The guests that joined me were much more adventuresome. One selected a pizza sandwich and the other chose an “Elvis” Wich -- made with banana and peanut butter and said to be the favorite of the late singer from Mississippi. Again, the ingredients were fresh and tasty, and my guests were pleased with their choice.
The beverages were adequate, including coffee, shakes, and a self-serve counter for soda, with iced water available at no charge.
The young people staffing the Which Wich were exceptionally considerate and had been schooled in the “My Pleasure” attitude. This sandwich shop is in the USF area, so many customers (and employees as well) are USF college students. The staff actually seemed happy to be at work – glad to get away from Shakespeare and advanced calculus, perhaps??
